Calm down everyone, well be fine

  I'm not panicking but I faced the reality that this team isn't a true title contender before the season even started.

  Doc will figure some things out and we will be fine but fine means a good playoff team not a title contender.

  This is what we bought into when we put together the Big Three.  The window was about 3 years to start with and Ainge managed to extend it a bit beyond that but it is closed now.  We're too old and lacking in athleticism at the positions where athleticism reigns supreme in the NBA.

  So we will win our fair share of games.  We will make the playoffs.  The Big Three will get a much deserved farewell tour.  We just wont see this team going deep into the playoffs this season unless Ainge somehow pulls a rabbit out of his hat and we land a true franchise player with what little we have to offer in such a deal.

  The good thing looking forward is that if anyone can turn this ship around in the next couple of seasons it is Danny Ainge.

Seriously? If the Celtics had Paul Pierce they could very easily be a 2-0 team. Now we have the following that have been posted on here since Sunday.

-JJJ is a bust (despite 2 games into the season)
-Cut Avery Bradley (despite half a year experience)
-Jermaine O'Neal is done
-Play Chris Wilcox more (despite not being up on the playbook yet)
-Brandon Bass should start
-Rondo lost Sunday's game because he stopped shooting the ball

I agree - You didn't even have Pierce in the lineup. You guys really had/have to control turnovers. I saw a lot of cross-court passes in the half-court offense that lead to turnovers, which could have been controlled. Also, you got burned a bunch of points by not covering the Heat's sharp-shooter in J. Jones.

I really liked the Celtics zone defense and loading up against Lebron and Wade. That's how Dallas' defense beat them last year, and I think they can still be exposed by that.

I never said this team was going to go 64-2 or that they were going to win it all. I simply said that if we can narrowly lose to two good teams with the the two best small forwards in basketball, we likely could've beaten them had we had our own Hall of Fame SF and our backup SF. I don't see why that's unreasonable.

And if you want to go back to last year, we should probably note that we played the bulk of tha series with a one armed Rondo.

Explain how the Heat are that much better? Sure they understand how to play together a little more, but they still couldn't figure out the zone like in the finals. Boston made some bad decisions in the first half. Some skip passes that shouldn't have been made led to like 10 fast break points. Some crappy calls too like the Cole charge and the Bosh foul on JO.

Now if you think Shane Battier who thus far has averaged 2 ppg over 10  mpg makes them WAY better then I will politely disagree.

No I think the Heat are basically the same team that finished the season last year. Make them play a halfcourt game and don't beat yourself with sloppy play and you can beat them. With a healthy Pierce we could easily be 2-0 right now.

Right now I have no worries.

The thing is in 08 they went on the road for preseason and got to know each other and train with out distractions.

right now we are still in preseason mode, still learning each other and not every one has gotten to play. Peirce and Pietrus will make a HUGE difference in offense and defense. The starting line up will be complete, you now have two three point shooters, and two people that can create their own shot with Pierce in the line up. Then you can Daniels at the 2 and Pietrus at the 3. Makes a difference.

Some one said they should be able to beat the Heat with out their star player? How many teams would have even been in the game let alone come back from 20 down with out their best player or score???

  Melo not in the game- loose by 15
  Dirk not in or even in the game - loose by 20

New players have killed the C's with bad rotations, that will get better, they signed a bunch of guys who know how to play D and will pick it up in the next few weeks. Problem is they only will learn during the game because there is no time for practice, so it makes it hard.

If the C's only have 10 wins at the 30 game mark, then I will start to worry.

Likely true.  Regardless, 2 of the top 3 or the top 2. 

Either way you look at it, there couldn't have been a worse time for us to be missing our two small forwards.
