1) Thank you to the Portland Trailblazers for keeping the Celtics out of sole possesion of last place.

2) Indiana won as expected against Detriot. I expect that they will be a good team, a solid 2nd behind Chicago and competing for a 4 seed with Orlando, New York/Boston.

3) Disappointed with Memphis, I thought they would go into San Antonio and win the opener.

4) Orlando bounced back nicely against Houston - Old friend Glen Davis had a decent line in 21 minutes. I still say that it is a bad contract for Orlando.

5) Wish I could have seen OKC at Minnesota. That Rubio kid is a Spanish Ernie DiGregorio at worst and possibly the Spanish version of Jon Stockton for a ceiling. Either way, it is good for Minnesota.

6) Good for the Kings for staying in Sacremento and winning their home opener against the Fakers. That makes me happy.

7) Also Good for GS for coming back to down the Thibabulls.

8) The game I saw was Phoenix losing their home opener to the New Orleans Hornets. It was a competitive game between two good teams but there really was not too much I can draw from that game. It was fun to watch.

9) NJ vs Wash and Clev vs Tor - Any comments here would be appreciated if you bothered to check in with LP.

10) Dallas has a championship hangover and clearly came in unprepared. They may start 2 and 8.

11) Denver on the other hand could challenge Oklahoma for NW Division supremacy. I miss the Sonics :(`

the Heat's blowout of the mavs doesn't look so impressive anymore after the nuggets did the same to them

That's fair, but the Nuggets are one of the West's better teams and at some point a blow out is a blow out.  I also think Dallas is a much worse team this year than they were last year.  People paid a lot of attention to Chandler but I still don't think they realize what his worth was to that team.  Dirk carried them to the title but he put them in position to get there by finally making them have a defensive identity.

I am less concerned over the score of Miami's blow out but how they did it: running a new fast break offense and running spread, triangle offense like sets in the half court.  There was one play where Dallas made a 3 pointer and LeBron still managed to run a one man fast break and score on the other end in about 4-5 seconds.  That's the kind of thing you are going to see a lot of and I don't know if our aging team will be able to keep up.

We will have more answers tonight.  I just wish we had Pierce.
