Source confirms that #Celtics Kevin Garnett will not be suspended for incident near the end of #Celtics loss to NY on Christmas Day.

I actually want him to be suspended...He can rest for the NO game, one we can actually win.

good! It looks to me like the NBA admitted Crawford already screwed up and cost us a game, no need to punish us even more.

I'm shocked. How much influence Miami/Boston game had in the decision?

Very shocked by this as well... Especially with Stern cracking down on teams and players early in the year so far... I was expecting at least one game and some sort of fine.

I think a lot. There's no way the NBA would want that TNT game to take place without Pierce and KG. I personally think that he should have been suspended. Same way he got a suspension in the 2010 first round series for the incident with QRich.

So, now that he wasn't suspended... how awesome was KG's choke on Walker?

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I am shocked that he got away with that. Love KG, but IMO he crossed a line there that will only build upon the disdain the league and media have harbored for him since arriving here.

As a fan, so glad he's gonna play tomorrow, hopefully Pierce will too (heard on WEEI that he's trying to get on the court for Miami game).

KG is the man, glad he did what he did. Game's over, and Walker walks to get on KG's face talking crap? Sorry, but that's not going to fly with anyone. I'm just sad that KG gave him that weak shove.

What keeps getting downplayed, and ignored is that KG is walking backwards, with Davis pulling him away...yet Walker keeps going at him until he invades KG's personal space. Sorry, but I don't know of anyone who wouldn't at least shove someone out of the way in that circumstance.

Well, I think KG did cross the line, and it was a bushleague move...but, I also don't think it was even close to suspension worthy.  Had it been during regulation, it would have been a technical, and never talked about again. But, because there was no way to punish him at the time, and because some bloggers with NY leanings (Sheridan) decided to spin it as "choking" (which is nowhere close to the case, he was trying to face wash him, Lucic-style, but missed his face), a lot more of it was made than was warranted.

This is another example of why KG can be difficult to cheer for at times, but it should never have been a suspension.
