he's on our team because he's a young player who not long ago was considered one of the elite players of his crop, and who thankfully doc/danny are more patient with than blog posters.

granted I haven't seen him this year, and I believe that he's looked awful on offense, but let's be realistic.  financially, the celtics are in a tight spot to sign players. it would be dumb to trade draft picks when we'll be re-building next year.  bradley is a 3rd stringer who at best will see 10 mins a night, most nights not even that.  i say let him play and get comfortable, take a couple shots here and there, and give him more than one game into his sophomore year to do something.

I think when people see him guarding Wade well tonight they will get off his back for a little while.

I think we will see Wade blow right past him for an easy two.

Avery Bradley is on the roster because Danny Ainge understands that roster construction involves thinking about the future beyond the next game or the current season.

People, Relax.

Last season was lost for Bradley and this year we had a lockout. The kid is twenty for goodness sake.

People used to say the same stuff about Tony Allen. Posters on this board wanted him run out of town on a rail.

I watched plenty of Bradleys games at Texas (I live in Houston) and also in the D League. He is a good player. Give him a little time.
This. You can do a lot worse than a 20 year old defensive guru. If we are looking to Bradley for offense something is wrong. I want Bradley passing on offense and trying to just move around and make offenses keep their eye on him.  Getting ready for rebounds and more defense.  Pass first defensive guards are allowed. We just haven't seen it lately and aren't used to it, just like we aren't used to NFL offenses that run more than pass. But it's ok.

Exactly.  It's nice to have an improving young guy in case Rondo falls off the face of the Earth or gets a day to day injury.

I don't have much faith in Bradley either.  That said, it seems silly to write him off at this point.

There's obviously potential.

Again, I'm not betting on the kid, and he's never looked like an NBA player to me.  AND, I've always thought his defense was a little overrated.

He's obviously a great individual defender.  The Cs play team defense, and he is far from mastering that.

So, I'm not pumped up about an Avery  Bradley future, but even I think it is ridiculous to attempt to close the book on him at this point.

At least Doc was smart enough to pull the kid after a min or 2.

But what really stings is Bradley took Delonte's roster spot.

Bradley played like 9 minutes...

I got no problem with Bradley on this team, the question is why is Doc playing him. Moore was clearly the better player if you had to go that deep into the bench.

i dont know how much basketball you have played in your life, but if you think Bradley playing 9 minutes in that is nothing then your crazy.

Those 9 minutes cost us the game. Terrible shot, terrible turnover.

He actually looked better than I thought.  Which still wasn't very good.

there is something to be said about bradley though. the guy just doesnt have that aggressiveness we need from him. i know people will say its cause he hasnt had time to gel with the team cause of the problems he had last year. i respect that view and was supporting it. but then, compare him to iman shumpert and norris cole. both of those guys play a similar position on contenders with elite superstars. both of them came in and were not afraid to be aggressive with the ball and attacking the hoop. im hoping bradley can fill that role on offense (even if he misses every layup like shumpert did, i would be happy for him at least attacking like that). if not, then hes useless to us and will lose trade value quickly.

They will call him for a foul for just breathing on Wade.
