You're talking about the 14th and 15th men on the roster. Moore should have indeed got his minutes and once again it seems Doc's trust issues are a problem.

A 1st round draft pick should not be the 14th or 15th man on the roster.... 1st round picks should be contributors

Yeah but he's fallen behind a lot because of injuries. If we trade him now we'd be getting garbage in return. He certainly has potential to contribute/get assets in return.

It's his 2nd year in the league and he's shown absolutely zero improvement on offense. So where's this potential you speak of?

Hope springs eternal for some people I suppose, but when there haven't even been "flashes" I think it would be silly to hold your breath. As has been pointed out in this thread, there are plenty of examples of other people being drafted in that range who contributed from Day 1.

There's no reason to believe that Bradley will suddenly get good, other than blind faith.

I think the point is that, while Bradley hasn't shown much promise offensively, he's terrific defensively and there's no point in trading him - nobody will want him and you're not going to get anything back. You might as well hold on to him, use the defense once in a while and hope for the best.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

While I don't care to much for Avery, I hope he proves me wrong and the same for Sasha.  I am in the minority in that I simply do not trust Delonte in terms of durability.   He was always hurt and that has to be a reason why we let him walk.

I agree with a previous poster.  I would have thrown Avery at Carmelo. Especially in the 4th quarter. Not only are his feet quick, he has nervous hands that disrupt the flow of a player's offense.

As for offense I haven't seen anything I like except that he gets his shot off fairly easily.  I hope if he has one strength that Doc finds it and exploits it.

I remember a few years ago, Giddens, another offensively challenged player, had one move that worked in preseason and exhibition.  He would drive across the foul line and hit a jumper similar to what Pierce feasted on for years. I never saw him do it during the season. Instead, he floundered everywhere else.

People, Relax.

Last season was lost for Bradley and this year we had a lockout. The kid is twenty for goodness sake.

People used to say the same stuff about Tony Allen. Posters on this board wanted him run out of town on a rail.

I watched plenty of Bradleys games at Texas (I live in Houston) and also in the D League. He is a good player. Give him a little time.

By "plenty" do you mean all of the 34 college games played by Bradley at Texas?

I've watched plenty of Bradley's minutes in the NBA, probably all of them,  and besides one good game to end last season, he hasn't looked anything like an NBA played offensively.

Unfortunately, there isn't a platoon system in the NBA as in the NFL, so AB's one NBA skill, staying glued to his man defensively, isn't enough to warrant rotation minutes on a contender.

His two miss, one turnover, team leading -5 in nine minutes stint in the opener certainly didn't encourage Celtics fans.

Realistically if they put bradley on Melo he would have been whistled for a foul everytime Melo did anything, fairly or unfairly. And if he wasnt whistled for a foul for some odd reason , he would have been absolutely destroyed in the post

Because we drafted him, I guess.

The guy really, really doesn't have the talent to play in the NBA.  He looks nervous everytime he catches the ball.

This league isn't for him.

Avery Bradley must be remove of roster or trade, demonstrated that he does not fit to play in the Celtics.

Is incredible, Bradley in the NBA and Allen Iverson, Arenas or House as free agents ???

 Bradley = D-League.

I'd like to see him traded to a lottery team for a 2nd round pick, then Keith Bogans signed. Wings on this team need to be able to shoot -- simple as that.

His D and athleticism are promising.

His jumper is a LOT more promising that Tony Allen's ever was or will be. Echoing an earlier post, how long did everyone complain about how horrendous Tony Allen was? 4 years? Didn't he eventually materialize into a useful player?

Feel free to continue to crap on Avery at every possible opportunity. I will remain patient and optimistic. His impact on the team this season is not going to be that dramatic no matter what. How 'bout let the kid try to get comfortable and gain confidence for one healthy season before writing him off?

He needs to be in the D league playing 35-40 minutes a game.

Everyone needs to calm down. He only played because Pierce and Pietrus were out. Even if one of them played, he never would've gotten off the bench.

When both are back, neither he nor Sasha will play.

He shouldn't have been playing even with the injuries. If anything Moore should have been. Dooling only played 11 minutes, given he didn't look good, but come on.

We need to cut him some slack. He was injured most of last year and do to the lockout he didn't have much of a training camp. I wish he was more aggressive in trying to play overseas (I am positive this helped Moore out a ton). I would still like some more shooting (Pietrus should help with this is healthy).

I think Bradley can be valuable to this team. Once Pierce is back we should bring Bradley off the bench and put him with the first unit from time to time. With that unit his defense could be utilized while masking his offensive deficencies.

However, when he is playing with the second unit I'd rather have Moore in there. The second unit does not have anyone in it who can create his own shot, I think Moore would eleviate this problem where Bradley only exacerbates it.
