just for some distraction from our current pain, let's take Danny back in time a couple of years and reverse his horrible judgement ............

put Tony Allen and Kendrick Perkins and Nate Nate and even Semih on this team right now and keep Bass and add David West -that team might get some things done, DANNY !!!!!!!

Why the nostalgia for Nate and Semih? They're both awful. As for TA and Perk, you'd be better off talking to the commish about the salary cap.

Semi really?  You lost all credibility on that one, he was not that good.

just threw Semih in at the end, though i thought he was decent - not as a difference-maker, but he is better than Greg Stiemsma.

yes, i know this is a fantasy - just ocurred to me while i was watching today that all Danny had to do was stifle his urge to overmanage and tinker with a team that didn't need the "fixes" he kept trying to force on them.

and yes, i know i'm hanging on to the past. so shoot me.

When will people stop mentioning Perkins? The man would not be on the team this year even without the trade. Perk wanted more money than what we could offer. It is one thing to mention last season, but stop mentioning Perk for the current and future seasons.

you will never convince me that Perk would have left. that was just a smokescreen that Ainge threw up in a pathetic attempt to calm the anger from fans after that trade.

also ............ i probably misunderstand the salary rules, but didn't we offer Jeff Green more for this season than Perk is currently making ?

finally - if threads such as this one anger you so much, don't read them - it's an open forum, i'll discuss what i want.

I find that comparison pretty far stretched as they are not the same position.  While I do not think Bradley has played well I think we should give him a few more looks.

Semi was not that good.  He played hard though.   But we traded him and Gody for a second round pick.  Two players for a second round pick does not scream value to me.

If I hear one more thing about losing Harangody or Erdin, I'm going to snap. Bad enough people were just as p---ed about losing them at the deadline as Perk...seriously GET OVER IT!!!

So you are just going to stubbornly stick your fingers in your ears and shout "LA LA LA" just so you can come up with reasons to hate on Danny Ainge. Classy.

I can understand missing Tony Allen and Perkins. But Semih Erden? Seriously? That's almost as bad as the people who honestly think Scalabrine should still be on the team.  ::)

I'm still more disappointed about losing Chris Johnson.

Considering that Danny would be the one offering Perkins a contract, I don't think it was a smokescreen.

I don't think Danny was willing to pay market value for Perkins.

hindsight is 20:20.

though in your case hindsight seems to be more like 80/80.

If I'm taking Danny back in time, I'm making sure to thank him for coming here and turning this organization into a contender year in and year out.

Exactly what he set out to do once he signed back on to be the head of the Green machine.

#44 should be in the rafters, I don't care how many nubers the team has retired.  Combine both his play on the court, with his work as GM, he's earned that type of recognition.
