Let's hope we lose the game or else this thread looks very, very silly.

We lost the game and this was not because of Celtics old age. It was the breaks of the game went against us in the fourth quarter. We had chances to win today but it did not go our way in the last three minutes. I am not concerned at all.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Let's be fair, they're playing 5-on-4 right now on every offensive possession. Sasha is not just uninvolved, he's practically invisible.

Did he even touch the ball on offense? It was worse then Scal being out there on offense. It was 5 on 4 with Sasha just getting in the way.

I love how everyone is so worried after one freakin game. Its the first game after a short mini training camp where the team hardly played together, our best player is hurt, and argueable our best bench player (probably Bass but Pietrus can be if healthy enough) was also out to screw with our depth. We looked timid at first but came into a groove after halftime. We didnt look amazing today, but we didnt look dreadful either. 65 games left...Im not worried at all.

You can say a lot of those things about the Knicks too.

On a related note, there is no scenario in which Pietrus is your best player off the bench. Even if he miraculously reverts to his career-best form.

Exactly -- however, the Celts do get a Mulligan today in that they were without the captain. However, it would have been nice if they had been interested in playing for the first 18 minutes, and it also would have been nice if they could have held a lead down the stretch.

If we're going to excuse failure to win with "player X wasn't playing (at full strength) tonight", we're in for a long season. You're probably not going to get full 66 games from the older guys.

I hear the Commons is really beautiful this time of the year.

That is why I picked the C's to win 40 games or less. They are too old and will be too beaten up. 38-28 with a 5th seed will likely be their final record this year.

Now is the time to trade some of the older players. I don't trust delusional to make the trades however.

Never in a million years would I have guessed this would be the reaction to the game I watched today. I dont know if you all are sadists and like having something to be upset about, or if you are infiltrators from another team trying to cause dissension. All I saw was a Celtics team that played great without their main scorer and who got screwed by a crooked ref. I really dont think yall are fans. I think a bunch of Knicks fans snuck on here to flabergast the other board members with negativity.

blow it up after one game, when they only have had a couple weeks together and two preseason games. ???

blow it up after one game when our best player didn't play. ???

blow it up after one game when we are depleted on the wing ???

blow it up after one game when we lost by a couple pts on the road to a good team. ???

uummmmm......no.

i dont wanna suck for a decade. roll with what we have bc it is still better than 75-80% (if not more) of the nba.
