I'm not even worried or sad about this loss like I would have before. I didn't expect for them to win truthfully without Paul and even without him they gave the Knicks a hard time.
Like someone said they would be toast without Amare or Melo.
I will say Joey Crawford can kick rocks, Rondo did well and Bass played well too. KG and Ray have sadly shown their age and Bradley is just disappointing.
All in all I'm not too sad about this loss and the Knicks finally beat the Celtics after a year of losing to them.

  • Rondo = Good
I know I'm a broken record at this point, but since it keeps happening over and over and over it bares repeating:

The Celtics give up late-game leads because they are forced to rely on jumpshots late in a game and they miss a lot of shots due to tired legs.

The Celtics desperately, desperately need an honest to goodness inside option.  A guy who can post up and score 1-on-1 in the post.  Until they get a guy like that, it will be nearly impossible for me to be convinced that the C's have a real shot at going deep in the playoffs.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

And I'm sorry but KG can't be counted on down the stretch. He just has nothing left in the 4th qtr of games and we've seen this for two straight years now going on three.

If you want to play him, bring him in during the last four minutes but otherwise we're going to have to really rely on Bass to be our go-to 4 in the 4th and back him up w/ Wilcox or JO at the 5 but I  am so sick and tired of watching KG drag himself up and down the court in the final minutes only to front rim all of his shots.
Never stop believing baby~

The turning point was when Pavlovic got that BS tech, then Ray had that 3 taken away on the illegal screen and then JO got another BS tech.

Crawford and his crew really blew this one, and I hate the fact that  have to say that because I almost never blame refs.

Celts did all they could in this one, and I'm very encouraged moving forward. 8)

Just got home to see the scoreline. Very disappointing result but keep your heads up guys. We've shown we are still good enough and will improve significantly once Paul Pierce and Mickael Pietrus hit the court.

It looks like Doc put Avery Bradley in the game to bother NY's weak ball-handlers in the backcourt.

Stick Bradley out there with Dooling to provide some full-court ball pressure out there to see if they can force any turnovers.

I imagine that is why Avery Bradley played today. Doubt we see much of him in the near future without major improvements having been made.

saw the game on tape delay -- Christmas at the in-laws today.

impressions:
- Rondo was fantastic.  showed confidence in his jumper and FTs as well as taking it to the basket.  Chris Paul?  Who's Chris Paul?
- Bass was terrific.  Danny Ainge will be doing time for stealing him from Orlando.
-C's looked like crap the first quarter and a half and then again in the last half of the last quarter.  If they hadn't played like garbage to start the game, the game wouldn't have been close in the fourth quarter and Crawford wouldn't have made difference.
- Wilcox, Dooling and Daniels were disappointing today.  The pass to Melo was just mind boggling.  Sasha and Bradley were absolutely horrific.  PP and Pietrus should relegate Sasha to deep, deep bench but Bradley should have been more productive in pestering what passes for NY PGs.  He was an absolute disaster on offense.  Hopefully Moore will get ahead of him on the depth chart.
- Crawford is still a tool.    Would be floored if he's not found to be the next Tim Donaghy.  No other explanation I can see that would explain his 'officiating'.

The optimistic thing to take from this game is that when the C's finally showed up midway through the second quarter and through the third, they looked terrific.  If they can play smarter to start the game and continue to have an aggressive Rondo, I think they'll surprise a lot of people this year
