yeah he was not a good starter in the long run for chicago but he does average bench points and play great defense

this is looking more and more like a deep team

Gosh...I think I'd take him over Avery Bradley for rotation minutes this year, and I don't think Bradley has a future.

To play pretty deep bench, though.  Quisy backs up Ray, Pietrus behind Pierce, then Bogans if any of those take a night off, essentially giving everyone a night off every fifth game, and still playing a 4-player wing rotation every night with Moore as emergency reserve.

Bradley can't play minutes, and Moore could use a little seasoning before earning minutes.  Drop Bradley and sign Bogans.

Win.

If we sign Pietrus, we'll have a 15 man full roster.  Greg Stiemsma reportedly made the roster:

Scott Schroeder: Was just told that Greg Stiemsma has officially been informed he made the Boston Celtics. Those stories are why I enjoy the D-League

If Pietrus signs, that leaves us as:

JO / Wilcox / Stiemsma
KG / Bass / JJJ
Pierce / Pietrus / Pavlovic
Ray / Marquis / Moore
Rondo / Dooling / Bradley

Pretty good off-season by Ainge, after the terrible news with Green and some bad luck with David West.

All things given, that's a pretty solid roster on paper.

The big question will be health.

Actually, that looks outstanding.  15 deep if you can put up with watching Bradley (not sure I can).

if i was doc i would show bradley some old tony allen videos to show him his role and how he should play because allen was something special in the long run i think bradley will be good to just need to stop rushing shots

Yeah, Bradley needs to focus on two things:  1) defense; and 2) attacking the basket.  Tony Allen has had a good career doing those two things well.

agreed he should take no more than two jumpers a game (because his jumper is ok) but his strength is defense and attacking the basket and getting those free throws

If we get Pietrus, we'd be set on the wing, IMHO.

Getting better JO insurance than Stiemsma (Przybilla, Dampier) would be by next priority.

Amen.  Sasha brought next to nothing to the table the last game and didn't impress me last year.

Sasha played very well defensively in that preseason game against Toronto.  I'm very happy with adding Pietrus and calling this team good.

SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas

its funny because danny wanted to trade for pietrus many times in the past

now pietrus falls in his palm when we need him most, for the vets minimum, and he desires to play for the celtics as well right when we have a whole in the wing spot....

its funny how things work out sometimes

kind of like when perk went down and shaq came

Sasha played very well defensively

He has one good play other than that he was unimpressive.  One play does not a good game make.  I am sorry the box score does not reflect what you claim

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=311221002

http://www.nba.com/raptors/roster/

1-4 FG shooting and 1 STL, 2 boards and 2 Points in 21 minutes is not going to cut it.  I remind you this was against the Raptors not exactly a team with great forwards.  With that production how will he do against teams with real small forwards.   The Raptor guy equaled or exceeded his score.  Their SF had 1-4 shooting and 7 boards and 4 points.   We lost this matchup.  The rebound disparity is large and seven possessions I might add.

I think Toronto does not have a good SF rather than him playing defense.   Do you really want me to post past seasons of PP torching him?   The myth of his defense is unfounded. He is not a good player at any level.

I don't hate Sasha but I do think he is a weak link for our team and ineffective.   Celtics are my favorite team but I lived in Ohio for 9 of the last 10 years and seen many Cavs games.   I have never thought he brought much to the table and I think I would wager I have seen more of his game than you, Celtics18.
