Before we start gushing over Sterling, remember LA as a city/weather is a more desirable destination for players than Boston.

that's true.  regardless of how well managed the Celtics are, LA is always going to be warmer, more diverse, and more exciting than Boston in the eyes of a young player.
if by young player you mean every single person on the planet, then you are correct.

Well, he still deserves criticism for years of mismanagement.  It's not like that all of the sudden disappears.  If he was really such a great owner, he would've been doing this the whole time, not just the past few years. 

Still, he deserves credit for changing his ways, I suppose.

Well, he still deserves criticism for years of mismanagement.  It's not like that all of the sudden disappears.  If he was really such a great owner, he would've been doing this the whole time, not just the past few years. 

Still, he deserves credit for changing his ways, I suppose. 
Not to defend Sterling, but he has had a fair amount of bad luck with his draft picks (injuries, weak drafts, etc.) and a lot of his cheapness decisions actually worked out at least with respect to his own free agents (at least lately).
