I have the feeling the Celtics won't get Pietrus just because of how much of an unfortunate failure this offseason has been with signing FA/trades.

So many sources are pointing to the C's, though.

Very excited for the possibility.  Now all we need to do is upgrade Dooling at some point and I will be very satisfied with our bench.
I think it was Washburn who broke the story him or Sherrod, was there anybody else link?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
when does the news on Pietrus come out?
Is it today or tomorrow?
I'm hoping for some off season good news regarding a FA we need this much.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

How do you know nobody wanted Wilcox? Are you saying no tear in the league is in need of more depth at the 4/5?

We traded for Dooling and Bass, which implies that somebody wanted them since they were playing significant minutes on a team. And we paid Wilcox the MMLE, which also implies that we had competition to sign him because he's a tremendous athlete for his height. I can't see how you could be upset with this offseason.

I like both Bass and Wilcox.  It's Dooling I'm worried about.  Not a great fit for our bench.

I think Dooling is a great fit next to Daniels, because Daniels can handle the ball more on offense, allowing Dooling to be more of a spot up shooter, and concentrate on defense.

I think this is the biggest reason Sasha will be starting tomorrow, so they can keep Dooling and Daniels together.

If Daniels goes down though, Dooling will not be able to run the offense without another ball handler on the floor.

At least it shows some guys still want to come here that is encouraging at least.   I was beginning to wonder.

Dooling would look better without Bradley trying to be second coming of AI.  Bradley took many ill advised shots the last game.  This made the second team look impotent because Bradley isn't a good shooter by any means.  Doc likes Dooling and that is enough for me.

I think Doc told Bradley to do that.  I think Danny and Doc have been trying to get Bradley to be more aggressive.

I know I am going to regret saying this, but honestly, I was more impressed with Bradley last game than I have ever been.  Not because I think he is a good player, but for the first time in a long time, I thought he had the potential to be a good player.

He was not hitting his shots, but he showed that he can get his shots off, and can create space.  He still has a LONG way to go before he is a quality NBA player, but if he can build off that, and now focus on actually finishing, then perhaps he could be a decent offensive player.

I agree.  I really like his stroke on the jumpshot, very smooth and in rhythm.  Those shots should start falling sooner or later.  He also continues to shows good hands on defense, swatting away balls from bigger players and starting the break.  I'd like to see him gat another season in the D-league.  He's a year younger than Moore, who I'd like to see make the big squad.

He showed last year he can get that midrange shot any time he wants.  They're just all bricks.

Personally I don't think that shows all that much potential.  It shows he has the speed and athleticism (again, another thing we already knew).  However, defenders play him for the drive so that shot will likely always be there for him to create (like Westbrook).  It's not because he's a master of getting his shot off quickly (such as Eddie House) or anything truly impressive like that.

You're probably right, I was just swayed because my expectations had dropped so incredibly low.

The one thing he showed over last year is that he can use his first step, and get all the way to the basket.  Last year he took way too many pullups, because he couldn't beat his man all the way to the hoop.  This year is the first time I have seen him actually take it all the way in.  It was progress.

Of course, he was still getting the shot blocked by the help defenders, but babysteps.
