I'm shocked that there were $300 courtside seats at MSG in the first place.

Yeah I wonder what the Celtics courtside seats are going for.

Being that it was for disabled people that price increase is pretty messed up though. I mean if they raised it up to that price slowly over the next few years that would have shown a little class.

Does this matter?  Only super rich people who want to be seen will be in those seats anyways, so I don't blame them for jacking up the price.  In fact, I am surprised they didn't jack it up even more.  This is NY, they will sell.

Edit: I missed the disabled part.  But still, if you are sitting courside, disabled or not, you should be paying a premium.  Disabled people should be allowed to go to these games, but they shouldn't get to pay less than anyone else for better seats.

Are the courtside seats the only ones available for wheelchair access? The disabled should pay the market value for the seat. I don't have a problem with that, so long as there is more than just courtside options. The reality is it is not reasonable to have disabled seating in every section, but there should be reasonable options. Since this article is only about raising the price of courtside tix, I assume their are other tix also available that people should buy if they can't afford courtside seats.

Really poor journalism.

track this back to where they got it from(the post) and you find this

The average increase for seats in the Garden this year was about 50 percent, including accommodations for the disabled at 14 other locations in the arena. The price hikes, he said, were due to renovation costs.

The ticket prices for handicap-accessible seating are the same as seats in adjacent areas, Watkins said.

Of course the prices are the same.  If they weren't, they would be in court right now.
