Lopez's replacement.

I like it. Makes D Will a little happier and he is another expiring.

Yeah, I'm sure D-Will had a say in it.

If we don't get pietrus maybe this move could lead to a signing for us
"@johnhollinger: Unless they haven't formally signed DeShawn yet, Nets may have needed to waive Stephen Graham to put that trade through. It's reeeeal close."

Huh.  That's going to complicate a future Dwight Howard trade, just because it puts NJ over the cap.  That means that Orlando is going to have to take back salary if they do a D12 trade, whereas before they could have offered Orlando immediate cap relief and a trade exception.

It doesn't make a deal impossible, but it certainly makes it harder.

Too bad the Nets couldnt sign Kirlenko and officially make it Jazz 2.0.

I'm guessing NJ will try to dangle Okurs Expiring in a Howard deal? All though that really wouldnt make much sense...Im not sure about this one.

dwight is going to the Lakers anyways.  All but certain.  As soon as the NBA lifts the secret Laker trade ban (after the Lakers got caught tampering in the Chris Paul negotiations... which the NBA swept under the rug to avoid any additional bad publicity... hence the Lamar Odom to Dallas punishment), Dwight will be on his way to LA.

I probably made that up, btw.

Not too much though. The deal won't go down till closer to the deadline. They will exhaust every option they can to keep Howard there. Once the trade does go down a lot of that salary has already been paid. Orlando will be looking to move contracts that go beyond this year around that time and would likely be ok with taking back Okur since he expires.
