Dude can score. Could be an interesting non-guaranteed pick-up.

Low risk high reward.

He was hurt in a freak accident to his foot; "freezer burn":

Maybe his bad luck and the Cavs impatience could be our gain. He definitely showed some explosiveness scoring-wise last year.

He can shoot and we need a shooting 2. At 6'5" he's got the size and definitely the stroke.

On a non-guaranteed contract, as you said, sspence, he's worth a look see.

They said he would miss "a few games", no more than that.

Kid can 'bound too for a 2.

....a team not noted for always making the most prudent decisions.....

Reading between the lines in this article, I think that the Cavs management wasn't thrilled with Harris' treatment decisions and dumped him because they were p---ed at him.

In addition, it also sounded like they wanted 15 on the roster right now:

"Because of the lockout Harris could not be treated by team doctors. A Detroit physician prescribed an ointment or cream for the burn, but coach Byron Scott knew Harris wouldn't be able to participate in camp once he saw the injury. Harris was  expected to miss at least a few more days of camp.

On Sunday, Scott said Harris would not necessarily have to practice before camp ended to secure a roster spot. He was asked Thursday if he would be reluctant to release Harris since he likely would be picked up by another team."

It sounded like Scott wanted him and assumed that he would be there and that the management team above him overruled him.

Still Manny had ample opportunity to make a name for himself in the NBA (15 starts) and he failed to do so. If he can't make roster of re-building team, he has no chance on Celtics. In fact, I'm fairly certain his days in the NBA are over (I hope I'm wrong). He'll be in Europe soon.

Not convinced Manny Harris is an NBA level player.

Might be best off going to Europe for 2-3 years and refining his game and then coming back to the NBA to give it another go. Not quite ready (yet?).

He was really beastly in my old 2k12 Association team.

Correct me if I'm wrong please, and I probably am, but don't we just have the vet min. left? We're getting Pietrus with that and I'm so excited for that.

If its at the expense of Pietrus, then no.
