Afflalo to sign extension with Nuggets

Sources told ESPN.com that the sides have reached terms on a deal that, with bonuses, would pay out in excess of $43 million over five years to Afflalo, who was coveted by numerous top teams that generally presumed that the Nuggets would match any offer sheet to the 26-year-old.

The deal with Afflalo ensures that the Nuggets have retained their top two free agents. Last week, Denver and center Nene -- widely regarded as the top available free agent -- reached terms on a five-year, $67 million deal.

Plus defender, has consistently improved and developed his game over the last four years to become an efficient 3 point shooter, great work ethic and attitude. It's not idiocy.

I had to go look it up: top-10 3PT percentage shooter in the league. I didn't realize he was that good.

Yeah, I'm a little shocked that people think he is being overpaid. Look at the contracts of BBD, Stuckey, Hayes (before it was voided), Outlaw..and try to compare. He is only 26 and will continue to improve for another couple of years at least.

Haha journeyman? Hes been in the league four years and has only played for two teams...Now has an extension to stay with the later. Far from anywhere near journeyman.

Yeah, that's not a terrible contract for Afflalo.  Good move by Nuggets holding onto him.
