So I guess they will probably look for a backup center and SG? those are the two most important positions of need. We need a SG who can hit the open 3 and defend Wade. I am thinking Stevenson is probably the best option .

I hope they look for a backup sg and center. What I think will happen is that they will either sign Brown or Stiemsma (sp?) to be on the opening roster then leave a spot open for Pryzbilla, one of the chinese guys or an in season cut. I'd much rather have them sign two veterans now though.

I don't think not wanting Posey = satisfied with current small forwards.

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson

Yeah I wish they'd keep looking but I guess they don't think they can find much of an upgrade at wing still.

I'm glad they passed on Posey, he looked cooked with the Pacers last year.

Well, that makes the 3rd straight season we're going in with Marquis Daniels as the main wing off the bench.  Danny has full trust in him, and is apparently oblivious to his past 8 seasons.  Third time's the charm?

I was very excited to have him behind Green because it would've allowed us to use him properly as a combo guard (natural position).  As a defender, he can be out-muscled by a lot of SFs, whereas he's a lot less vulnerable at SG.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

yeah, im not comfortable playing Marquis mostly at the 3, either.

i get that he's supposedly more durable now, but it seems like if we really want to rely on him so much we should protect him by using him primarily as a 2 and getting a wing with legitimate size behind Pierce.

Marquis doesn't get out muscled by threes. He is actually really strong, and one of our best post players (when he has the match up) He played pf/c in college.

there's no logic to support losing essentially your sixth man and then say you are satisfied with that position. If they were satisfied then they'd essentially be saying they didn't need Green. Since Danny traded to acquire him I wouldn't think he'd say he isn't a necessary piece.

Is this the Celtics passing on Posey or Posey passing on the Celtics?

Theoretically speaking, this season is very different from his previous seasons, healthwise. All of his hand/wrist problems were symptomatic of his spinal/nervous condition; that is, he wouldn't have suffered them, or would have been far less likely too, if he hadn't had an existing condition. With that fixed, there IS reason to believe he won't suffer from many of his previous injuries.

Theoretically.  ;)

I don´t understand Ainge's attitude, we need two or three reinforcements, Pavlovic? Bradley?, They are no good for Boston.

If (sadly big if) marquis can stay healthy he is a guy who can play 3 posistions for us.  He does a great job at sf, good at sg and surprised the hell out of me defending point guards.  He can bring the ball up, very good passer, good low post offense, smart etc etc
I'm happy with him.  I was really happy with him being 3rd string sf, (green) and able to give us minutes at sg and emergency pg or pf minutes.
