To be honest, I don't like Dooling's game at all. Nate just got bought out by the Thunder recently. Can we bring him back at the veteran minimum?

Not even comparable, Dooling is far superior to Nate. He's a true pg, a team leader, and a smart player. Nate is none of those things.

Nate

There are reasons why Nate remains unsigned. I wouldn't be surprised if no team picks him up.

Dooling is a top notch perimeter defender and yes a true backup PG which we've lacked in recent years. Moore can be a nate in the making if we want a shooting guard off the bench. But TBH this bench needs all the help it can get with Jeff Green out.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

We have a professional, get it done, focus, grind it out mentality this season.  We went out of our way to get these guys, left cheap talent in Delonte, traded a very important guy with a lot of chemistry and continuity in Baby etc.  We're not going to throw that all away and get Nate.  Nate is a tremendous athlete, and a good scorer when he's on.  Dooling is a legit combo guard with good size, athleticism, defense and passion.  He can run an offense which is even more important considering that we have Avery Bradley and a second round draft pick competing for the two guard spot.  Just picture a Nate and Bradley backcourt before tossing Dooling out of Boston.

I greatly dislike Dooling.

Too erratic and inefficient/ineffective offensively to be a rotation player for a team with playoff hopes. He will cost the Celtics game(s) in the playoffs.

I don't think he'll play enough to cost the Celts games in the playoffs.

I hope so. Keep him on the bench.

Rondo is going to need to play 42-45mpg in the playoffs with this chap around.

Do you think Delonte was better in some way?

Is Nate a free agent yet?  I know he wants his release, but I'm not sure that the Thunder have obliged yet.

Yes, very much so. One of the best backup combo guards in the league.
