1991-1992 was the last season in which the original Big Three played together. This season will no doubt be the Next Big Three last together.
Only Parish was able to play the whole season. One has to think realistically that the Next Big Three won't ALL be healthy throughout this season and will miss games due to nagging injuries (short or long term).
1991-1992 season had the same feeling as this year. Three great players who are on their last legs but give fans a very small sliver of hope of possible great things because of their past together.
The 1991-92 team finished first in their division but lost in the second round of the playoffs. Which is what a lot of realistic fans are predicting (but are hoping for more)for this current team.
Reggis Lewis was a G/F with a lot of potential on that team who ended up having a tragic ending later on. Not a perfect correlation but Jeff Green also is that g/f position who also has a heart problem and whose future with the Celtics is unknown. Bad luck for the Celtics in both cases and tragic for both players (Lewis obviously more).
The 1991-92 team had Stojko Vrankovic from Croatia and this team has Sasha Pavlovic from Montenegro. Two Europeans from relatively the same region who has little to no impact to the team.
