certainly keep hope alive...
but it would seem this team isn't much of a threat at this point. Our roster seems to be lacking in a major way.
I agree that's probably the case, but there are worse things than watching three Hall of Famers and a young, exciting all-star PG.
2010-11 Opening Day roster: 2011-12 Changes:
Ray Allen
Kevin Garnett
Jermaine O'Neal
Paul Pierce
Rajon Rondo
Avery Bradley
Marquis Daniels
Glen Davis Brandon Bass
Shaquille O'Neal Chris Wilcox
Semih Erden ?
Luke Harangody JJJ
Kendrick Perkins (Injured) ?
Nate Robinson Keyon Dooling
Von Wafer Sasha
SG Delonte West (Suspended/ Injured) ?
The 2010-11 Celtics opened the season with no Perk or Delonte available and lit the NBA up for the 1st 2-3 months of the season. C's were atop power rankings and folks were talking of the C's as a top contender.
I think many are expecting the Big 3 to age and therefore will be notably worse this year than last. Otherwise, the roster that starts this year is potentially just as good as the one that started last year.
Keep it in perspective:
Shaq averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes (37 games) last year.
JO played in only 24 games last year and averaged 5 points and 4 rebounds.
Perk played in 12 games -- 7 and 8.
All I'm saying is that our roster (with still a chance for a couple of additions) is not notably worse than the roster that went 23-4 to start the season.
