Doubt we'll pick him up... He'll probably go to the Lakers or Mavs.  Which ever one Billups doesn't go to after he gets bought out.

He's a knick. Watch.

Should have guessed the Knicks.  I was a little skeptical on the Knicks considering the fact that they just cut Chauncey, but I was considering how that was purely to save money and that they'd get Baron Davis for much less.

We'll see if that cures his back.

Dangerous team; Baron motivated is still a top 5 PG.

after the clippers grabbed Billups, Davis was smart and imo exagerated the reports of his back injury to discourage teams below the cap from claiming him off the waiver wire, and it worked.

And to the knicks he goes. geez I means its Baron Davis but the knicks are just going to be annoying now. And Troy Murphy to the Lakers? Ha, watch him start contributing again. I mean with Odom gone he basically took that backup PF/C spot.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Top 5 might be stretching it (CP3, Deron, Rondo, Rose, Westbrook all have him handily beat, in my mind), but top-15 is probably fair.

Maybe top 5 on a given night when a lot of the better point guards are off that night.

It'll be interesting to see the Knicks this year.  BD could be pretty [dang] good for them.  D'Antoni would be smart to not have him dominate the ball though.

Honestly, the scary thought to me is if Phil Jackson came back to coach the Knicks like there are some rumors about.  Who knows if there is any validity, but the Triangle offense would make it so the Knicks don't need a real PG anyways.

Yup.  Phil returning to the Knicks would be trouble.

As @HowardBeckNYT reported, Knicks wound up convincing Baron Davis to take the veteran's minimum ($1.4 mil) as opposed to $2.5 mil exception

- Sam Amick

Very good signing for NY. They still have the 2.5 mil exception.

Is Davis allowed to sign a big contract next season, or will that money just be deducted from what the Cavs would have paid him on his old deal?

If this is a contract year for BD, look out league.  This bum does get  it going in contract years (or at minimum in the playoffs of contract years).
