Says his agent contacted the Celtics. I don't know how I'd feel if this went through

This was reported yesterday.  Bartlestein just said that he would see if the C's have any interest in Posey.  No news here.

Maybe  ;)

A 1yr deal then yes i would say lets bring him back. I really cant see it happening though. The Roster is almost full and the glaring weakness is still at Center

1. Rondo
2. Dooling
3. Bradley
4. Allen
5. Daniels
6. Moore
7. Pierce
8. Green SF/PF
9. Pavlovic
10. Garnett
11. Bass
12. Johnson
13. O'Neal
14. Wilcox
15. ? < we still need a Center!

So if Posey was signed, Then someone will have to be waived

Posey is washed up and unproductive.

He's a 3-point specialist that isn't good at shooting 3's anymore. He's not anywhere close to the player he was when he was here in the past.

No thanks.

Great way to outline the roster, and yes, if we could, it would be great to get another center.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
we really don't need another wing. C or tweener guard. Wish Delonte came back, but he's never healthy anyway...

Well, I'd take him over Sasha.  I really think being back here could bring out the best in Posey (much like being back with Brady made Deion Branch relevant again).

I'd still think he'd be an 11th or 12th man at this point, but it'd be an upgrade if Wyc wants to eat Sasha's deal.

The last time I saw Posey (on whichever team) play the Bulls, Scalabrine looked like the better player of the two.

  I'm not kidding.

Would love to bring him back in. I'm one to believe he hasn't looked good lately because he hasn't been on a team as good as ours since he left.. That being said, I wouldn't get rid of anyone on the roster for him given our depth and our dire need for a center.

This is where I wish the NBA had contracts like the NHL does.  Bring a guy in on a "tryout" basis and make him EARN his money.  He gets no guarantees until he proves it.

Posey would be an ideal candidate for this...a guy who's washed up at this point, but if given a chance could make this team.

I HATE how the NBA hands out these "mini mid-level" contracts BEFORE a guy shows he's worth it.  You should be allowed to bring him in for a small tryout contract (some amount of money) and then if he makes the team, have a tiered contract offer based upon league tenure.

I would have brought this up within the CBA negotiations.  It makes a LOT of sense, and also makes the pre-season worth something to watch.  A guy like Posey is actually FIGHTING for a job, not handed one.

Word is that Posey played the entire year hurt all of last year.

He had a partial meniscus tear. Now I am not expert on knees, but I know that meniscus does not grow back once its gone. Ask Brandon Roy.

However, it can heal. If Posey's knee is healed and he's back to being healthy he may be a much better player than last year. In that case, I'd love to have him back.

Was he also injured the year before? If not, he's not going to improve a great deal...
