Doc is saying that he will be expanding his normal 8-9 man rotation to 10 or 11 due to the compressed schedule.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217450/Rivers_Open_To_Expanding_Regular_Rotation

That's exciting for us, but more complicated for Doc.

Given that hopefully Doc gives each of the Big 3 a game completely off here and there during some of those brutal stretches of the schedule, we could see up to 12 players get fairly consistent burn.

After the starting 5 of JO?,KG, PP, RA and RR: Willcox, Bass, Green, Dooling for sure. Then who? I think Doc goes with Marquis, Pavlovic (uggh!). That's 11.

I'm hoping that JJJ, Moore and AB get some play sooner rather than later because we will need those young legs.

Who do you guys think are Doc's 11/12?

1) lol@realgm

2)
PG - Rondo, Dooling
SG - Ray, Marquis
SF - Pierce, Green
PF - Garnett, Bass
C - JO, Wilcox

With JuJuan getting a few spot minutes, Pavlovic getting a few spot minutes, and Bradley getting a few spot minutes.

This is barring the signing of a legit 7 footer.

Well apparently he's "open" to expanding the roster.  I don't know if we'll actually see it.

I find it very tough to believe that he'll go 11 deep.  There doesn't really seem to be a point in doing so.  Even if he committed to playing Rondo 32 mpg, the Big Three 28 mpg, and JO 24 mpg, I don't see why we need 6 players to backup those kind of minutes.  There's no reason why Dooling can't play 16 mpg, Daniels 20 mpg, Green 20 mpg (or perhaps more, if PP gets some of his 28 minutes at SG), Bass 20 mpg, and Wilcox 24 mpg.

Maybe he means JaJuan will get the odd 5 minute per game run at center?

Regardless, I'll believe it when I see it, and think it'll generally be 10 guys max.

I'm going to predict that Daniels will see some minutes at backup point guard and may get more time in that spot than Dooling.

To start out.

The five starters.  Green as the primary backup at SF and perhaps joining Rondo and the Big Three in a smallball lineup.  Either Dooling/Daniels with an occasional cameo by Pavlovic or Daniels/Pavlovic with an occasional cameo by Dooling at the guards and Wilcox/Bass with minutes for Johnson when someone is in foul trouble at the big positions.  Bradley and Moore on the outside looking in, but with a chance to take minutes from Dooling, Daniels, or Pavlovic if one of those guys can't handle it or get injured or Bradley/Moore outright win playing time through practice.  I think Bradley has a shot at being inserted in end-of-quarter possessions on defense.  With teams temporarily allowed to dress 13 players to start the season, Bradley should get that spot over Moore.

Ideally, Bradley or Moore steps up and Dooling gets flipped to a team that needs a point guard for a trade asset, maybe a draft pick to clear a spot for a potential waiver casualty.

I'd like to see all 15 players used regularly. We are going to make the playoffs. Health and freshness of the key guys is the most important factor.

Can Bradley spend time in the D-League, or is he not eligible to be down there anymore?

Would like to see the rookies use the D-League to get into game shape for the first several weeks of the season. There will be very little practice time for them to learn systems, and conditioning/frequent play is probably better for them than to sit on the bench in streetclothes.

I honestly think that Doc will be giving the Rookies minutes similar to how he gave minutes to Harangody and Erden last season. Don't forget Gilbert Brown and the D-leaguers

Bradley is set to be our primary back up shooting guard unless he gets usurped by Moore, Daniels or Pavlovic.

This roster still needs a 3rd string center. O'Neal is not dependable and Wilcox is more of a 4.

I disagree, I think it's Marquis' spot to lose.

Daniels at the 1? Are we talking about the same guy? Marquise is a swingman, typically a 3 but will get most of his minutes at the 2

Absolutely.  Daniels was far and away the best wing we had off the bench before he got hurt last year.  Its his job to lose.

Although I am sure they would be thrilled if Bradley beats him out...I just wouldn't count on it.
