Solid defense, rebounding, and athleticism.  Bad free throw shooting is probably his main weakness and he's VERY DURABLE and only 30.  He's played in at least 80 games for FIVE straight seasons.  JO is an injury waiting to happen.  Am I missing something here?

Cost more then the Celtics have.

I would be OK with a sign and trade using Oneal as long as it was a short deal in length.

So, would a 2 year deal for $16 million or so be about right?

Trade JO and Bradley to Sacto in a S&T for Dalembert?

I heard that Dalembert is now pessimmistic about joining the Heat and they were only willing to offer about 5 mill.  I think we can do better than that?  I'm not an expert in salary structure but there's something that can be done creatively right?  If DA is not at least looking at Dalembert, I would be wondering why not.

Sign and trade is the only way.

JO and Bradley's contracts are about 7.5 million, so a 3 year 23 million dollar offering to Dalembert is probably what it would take to land him.  I doubt he signs for less than that and we'd also probably have to throw in at least a 2nd round along with Bradley to make it worth the other team's while.  Is he worth that?

This...If Kwame Brown is getting 7 mila  year.... Some team should give Dalembert 10.

Jermaine O'Neal signed through just this season is better than Dalembert signed beyond this season at a somewhat higher salary.

This is equivalent to asking why not get a Porsche? It's a great car and everyone wants one, but the price is at a premium.

Who then? Who do you guys think we can afford and have a chance of landing on a short term deal?

I'd like Dalembert in this system. I think that he and KG, along with the Celtics overall defensive would be a great fit.

If we got him and we stayed healthy this year, I think we'd be in very serious contention for #18. Jsut at what price though?...

Dalembert / Wilcox / Fesenko (Our Hammer off the bench)
KG / Bass / J. Johnson
Pierce / J. Green / Pavlovic
Ray / Marquis / Moore
Rondo / Dooling / Bradley

* I'd rather trade a future first than give up Bradley. I'd like to give the kid another 1-2 years, see if he takes a leap. And from a defensive standpoint, I really like his on ball tenacity.

I dont understand why people think ONeal is so bad. I know he is injury prone, but in his last full season with the Heat he averaged 14 and 7 while playing great defense in just 28 minutes a game. He's only 33 and when he was able to play last year there were some really good signs, especially on the defensive end.

I like the idea of a healthy JO. Just feel we need help at the 5 and the pickins are gettin slim.
