  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Big Baby is going to have a career year down in Orlando.
Good luck to him.
Not like he need it in Boston, but he's got serious motivation as a potential starter down there.
He needed a change and this could bring out the best in him.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I like Moore.  Mentally, I think he's a lot more ready than JJ.  Plays aggressive defense, has a lot of confidence, has a complete floor game.

Just needs to get that jumper smoothed out.  He'd go through stretches where it would completely abandon him and he'd brick just about everything.  Shot solid percentages regardless.

Curious to read that. Moore was quite impressive as a rookie in Europe. One of the readiest American young players I've ever seen, looked like a veteran on the floor right away. Kids his age generally took quite some time to adapt and in weaker teams/less demanding roles. Or even guys with more experience and reputation.

I'm not sure he's a NBA player, especially if he doesn't become a very good outside shooter, but he seems to have the mental strength for it.

Doc was quoted as saying Moore was the best player on the floor in Yesterday's practice (not looking at the quote now but it was along those lines). I know that doesn't mean much but it's a good sign. He might end up getting some minutes.

Because one is overweight while the other is a physical beast that can play above the rim.

Not only is he a physical beast, but it appears he's allowed to take as many steps as needed to get to the basket without getting called for traveling.

TP Chambers...

Look, I don't think Big Baby is a good, long term bet to meet his full potential. He has never proven he can keep his weight under control and the most likely scenario is that his body will start breaking down as he gets closer to his 30's because of all that weight. He is not a Shaq level freak of an athlete that somehow can carry that much weight without injuries catching up early on.

However...

IF Baby ever finds the discipline to pull a Perkins with his body - I do think he is a legit threat to be an 18-20 point, 7-10 rebound guy.

Only if he transforms his body completely though...

This being said, you can't teach height and at 6'8" with minimal lift he's not the starter you want at PF long term and bass is a perfectly fine replacement

If he ever fins

Had to check after seeing that. On a per minute basis, the Celts averaged about 8% more dunks last year than Bass.

Looking further, the Celts had fewer dunks per minute than Chris Wilcox.
