Well, apparently it's nothing serious :

Quote
Danny Ainge: something came up in Jeff Green's physical, wouldn't say what. Claims not serious.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but think that this is a delay tactic to again open up trade discussions with NO for Paul.

. . . except green can't be traded right now, so that's irrelevant.

Passing the physical makes the signing official. And nothing on NBA.com indicates the signing has gone through either.

Ergo, the signing is not official.
Yeah could easily be a smoke screen to make a last chance at offer NOH the same package they were before, or it could be nothing. Hard to say at this point...

I don't get how any discussions would be kept under wraps though w/ the way things are leaked out almost instantly. I don't think this is the case.

#Celtics D. Ainge said that the team is running add'l tests on Jeff Green. Said he expects him to be on the floor soon.

hmm additional tests?

Only if they spent the entire lockout on the couch eating chicken wings.

If they kept themselves in shape, played pickup ball, worked out in the gym, and did drills with trainers they easily could get hurt during the offseason. I think studies have indicated as many injuries happen in practice as in games at amateur levels.

Plus it could be an underlying health concern (englarged heart, that sort of thing *knock on wood*)

Ok... in order

1) Green is not practicing
That's ok

2) Doc says he doesn't know why: "ask Danny"
Strange. You have to admit it

3) Ainge: minor problem with physical (he didn't say Green hasn't passed the physical)
Very strange. I'm not going to buy the "new Chris Paul assault" theory. But you have to admit we have a (minor) possibility he can be still be traded 'cause no contract signed

Discussions are leaked usually to curry favor with reporters or to apply pressure to one side or the other.

Lots of trade talks go unreported.

so what, green is going to "fail" his physical, the contract will be annulled, and we're going to then sign and trade him? what, with a "wink wink, he's really just fine" under the table understanding with the hornets?

With the way things have been going in the NBA this year, I won't put anything out of the question.

No. The contract isn't official until he passes the physical.

Nothing to annul. It's not a done deal yet.

no idea...but this just doesn't sound right...don't him expect him for several days and I don't know what is wrong with him? I mean come on...either this guy is hurt (which is doubtful)

Plus if it was a sign and trade Jeff Green probably would relish going somewhere where he could get a long term deal and play more minutes.

It is more likely that there really is just a hold up with his physical, but things are crazy right now.
