Rudy Fernandez is the exact type of player the C's should want backing up an aging Ray Allen. He's an excellent 3 point shooter, something the Celtics don't really have in their backcourt at the moment. Marquis is a smart player but doesnt have the speed or shooting ability of Fernandez. Avery Bradley hasn't shown any signs of being a shooting threat. Keyon Dooling is sub par. At the very least, Rudy can be an Eddie House type of guy for this team.
We still have the Mini-MLE so couldnt we just trade Dallas, say, a second round pick for Rudy and just take on his salary which is about just 2/3 of the Mini-MLE and still have room to sign another player 1/3?
