The Celtics being involved in the running doesnt make any sense to me... How could they come anywhere close to the Clippers offer? Rondo, JO, Bradley and a pick might be the best they could offer. Clippers offer blows that away.

And I could still be in the running for Scarlett Johannsen.  Ain't over til it's over!!

If the Clips are actually offering Gordon, Kaman, Aminu and Sota's 1st, and that still isn't enough, we can't pay what it would take.
I don't think they're actually offering Gordon and the pick.

They aren't. See above. The deal is "dying". Rondo, fillers, and our pick are more valuable then either Gordon or the Minny pick by themselves along with Bledsoe, Aminu, and Kaman as a rental.

The problem is, we don't know what the clippers offer is.

Based on what I have read from the different sources, there is a decent chance all the Clippers were offering was Aminu, Kaman, and the Wolves pick, but the league was asking for more to be added (and rightfully so).

I disagree. If it was BOTH Gordon and the Minny pick then I would agree. Yet, by themselves they aren't as valuable as Rondo AND a potential low lottery pick.

Minny should be a better team then Sacramento, Cleveland, and NO (without Paul). They have the potential to have a better record then Washington, Detroit, Toronto, and Charlotte. They have a fair amount of talent and Adelman is a very good coach. Combine all that with the fact the ping pong balls could screw them based on where that pick lands (assuming you don't think Stern rigs it) and that pick could only be 4-5 slots higher then ours.

Kevin Love, Derrick Williams, Ricky Rubio, JJ Barea, Michael Beasley, etc. is some nice talent for Adelman to work with. Minnesota lost a ton of games in the fourth qtr. They should be better at closing some of those games this year. And before you say they don't have a center. Adelman didn't have one in Houston last year either. Kevin Love is also better then anyone last year on Houston's roster.

I think if we offered Rondo, JO and both the Clips pick and our 1st - that is a pretty good offer - especially compared to a Clippers offer that doesn't include both Gordon AND the Minny pick.  Don't be surprised when the rumors start flying again, guys...

If the Hornets were looking for Gordon and the Minny pick in addition to the likes of Aminu and Bledsoe, it's hard to see the Celtics having enough to entice.  We have a pick that's guaranteed to be worse than Minny's, Rondo - who seemed to be less appealing to NO than Gordon according to earlier rumors - and a couple of picks and players of lesser value than the Clipper guys.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

yeah, there's no way we can match what the clips were offering -- even though the clips weren't willing to offer both gordon and the t-wolves pick together.

Yeah but there is a reason CP3 is still a Hornet and that's because that was asking for too much from the Clippers.

Chris Paul hasn't pulled any of this drama? Except for when his trade, one of the first trades in a LONG time, was vetoed. Can you blame a guy?

Still a much better player than Rondo. If there is a deal on the table, especially now without Jeff Green in it, DA should make it.

That being said, the NBA is asking for too much and it seems like CP3 is there to stay.

We need to pick up Kevin Love from the farm out in Minnesota anyway. No need for him to waste away there any longer.

Forsberg: C's officially announce their remaining moves: signing Pavlovic, Johnson, & Moore; completing Bass trade. Should be a full-house practice

That means any CP3 trade can't contain the following players:

Green (for 90 days, and not without consent)
Johnson (30 days)
Moore (30 days)
Bass (can't be traded in combination with other players for 60 days)

Somehow, I don't think Rondo + Bradley is going to get it done.  The dream is dead.
