I ma baffled that Miami has not yet offered either Wade or LeBron for Dwight Howard. If I were Miami I would have been on the phone the minute I heard Howard was potentially available.

I'd most likely offer LeBron James and you would get a deal done instantly because there is no way in hell Orlando would get better than that. Both teams would sign off.

Miami, if they stayed healthy, would go on the win multiple rings in quick fashion and Orlando would start drawing immediate max level guys to play with LeBron. it's a win win.

1. Dwight / Bosh and Wade is a far more complimentary combination of talent than James / Wade and Bosh.

2. The inside out nature of Bosh and Howard's game it perfect.

3. Wade is the alpha dog, not LeBron and he's far more money in the clutch than LeBron, it's not even close.

I'd do that trade every day of the week and 10 times on Sunday if I were the Heat

Dwight Howard / Anthony
Chris Bosh / Haslem
Battier / Miller
Wade / James Jones
Billups / Chalmers

That team is sick...far better than one with LeBron James on it. It has all the pieces.

And if Orlando wouldn't take a straight up James / Howard trade? Fools...

Thoughts?

I wouldn't offer LeBron for Dwight. I'd rather keep LeBron.

I would happily trade D-Wade for Howard but I reckon Miami are not doing so out of loyalty to Wade.

why mess with a core that came close to a championship and has plenty of years left in their prime to keep trying for one?  the heat just need to gradually improve their supporting cast and a title is almost inevitable.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I wonder why Miami doesn't start with an offer of Bosh + filler/picks. Maybe that doesn't get it done, but Bosh is probably about the best player Miami is going to get now that Howard has requested a trade. I would try to keep Lebron, if at all possible.

Yes to both alternate scenarios you've mentioned. I think it just depends on which of Miami's trio you place the most value on.

For me, I think Bosh is the weakest of the bunch, but that he and Howard would be an excellent compliment to each other.

I'm not convinced James is a champ. Wade is more ice and money to me when it matters.

I'd certainly make the call if I were Miami. Maybe you start with a package that involves Bosh...I don't know if Orlando will get better.

Maybe Bosh, Norris Cole, Haslem, James Jones and Joel Anthony. I'd give them anyone else on the team they wanted outside of Wade and James if I were trying to move Bosh.

I'd worry about filing the holes afterward - it wouldn't be difficult....

But ultimately I'd trade either Wade or LeBron instantly and without a second thought if that what it took get Howard there - with a nod as you mention, to Wade our of loyalty -

Which is another reason I'd move James first...

They could stand pat and probably win, yes, but not as easily or as often I don't think, as with Howard.
