Yesterday, we were dreaming of David West. Today we have.... Sasha Pavlovic?

My goodness. Listen, I love this team. Always will. I'm going to here through thick and thin. But if I tried to say I wasn't incredibly disappointed and less than optimistic about this season, I'd be lying. As of right now, I'm not placing any expectations on this season. I'm just going to enjoy whatever success we have this season, and roll with hardships.

TP...feel like this is going to be one LONG shortened season

I dont understand why everyone is so negative on this signing....its just a depth signing in case for when Marquis goes down.

all fixed.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

my god, can everyone jump off the negativity train? the season hasnt started yet and everyone here is singing the Celtics demise...why even play a season if we know the results?

David west wouldve been nice to have, but its not like our bench is horrid

Dooling/Marquis/jeff green/Bass/wilcox

we're another center away from having some nice depth

There's a difference between being negative and being realistic. The other top teams in the East got better: Miami added Shane Battier, will have a healthy Udonis Haslem this year, and have a shot to get Arenas or Billups to play point. The Knicks added Tyson Chandler whose a defensive minded center who can get out in transition and finish on the break - pretty much exactly what they needed. And the Bulls are primed to add the scorer they so desperately needed in Rip Hamilton.

Compared to last season, Boston has made lateral moves at best. Unless JJJ turns out to be a beast in waiting, I don't really see how people think our bench is an upgrade from last year. I don't see it all.

C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

When you're looking at the Knicks adding Chandler, Heat adding Battier and we're adding Sasha....I think it's a wake up call that Boston just isn't a choice destination for most players.

bass is a little better than baby...other than that this bench is about the same or worse than last year....esp when you have about 4 guys with big time injury risks...

Well at this point I think it should be obvious people.  Either A. we just can't afford top bench players, B. none of those top quality guys want to come to Boston, they'd rather player in warmer cities or with their "friends", or C. a combination of both.  The bench isn't awful, nor is it great.  The big 3 is aging, J.O. is one smack of the wrist from being out, and Rondo's the headcase he'll always be. I get the concern for some of the players the Celtics have got. Let's just see how the season plays out before we go over the top and say we're doomed.

This signing is excellent comic relief after the West drama.
Two thumbs up for Danny!

I've never been a fan of his and I lived in the Cav's market for years.  He is too up and down in terms of uneven performance.  I think there could have got someone better.

its not like pavlocic is our #1 signing though, and weve still got the mini-MLE to spend on someone. youre comparing the bulls/heats MLE signing to our vet min...

its easy to sit back and say "our bench couldnt get it done last year were doomed!"

the beginning of last year we looked like the best team in the NBA with shaaq starting, but we were plagued by so many injuries later on and trying to acclimate Jeff Green into our offense. we went into the playoffs with essentially an ineffective BBD as our center

theres alot of unknown factors that go into how successful we can be this year.

1. does Rondo make another jump as a player
2. Does jeff green develop into the threat we want him to be off the bench?
3. does Brandon bass(who is a better shooter than BBD and decent post player) thrive with Rondo dishing him the ball
4. does JO stay healthy enough to provide the post defense perk did

I think Dannys done a pretty good job this year of building depth on the bench, its a question of how healthy we stay...and considering the season hasnt started yet im not ready to be all doom and gloom.

Just to be correct. We 're not adding Sasha, we're keeping him. It is not new addition like Chandler
