Now assuming being apart of the big three keeps you safe, it seems with BBD gone. JGreen inked, the rookies hafta ink soon if your going to roster them, leaving for the time being, Jermaine, Rondo and Avery Bradley as our dangling bait to try to land a roster upgrade, throw in our own and the clippers pick. we could realistically still do something big.

sounds like we're somewhat hamstrung unless somebody like Jermaine..
Too much coffee and Gatorade. It's a hell of a mix. If you're ever tired in the morning, just try that mix, and tell me what you think. -Kevin Garnett

"My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the f***ing truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this."

blow it up...please... I'm fine if we can't compete do to chemistry issues. But at least we won't have to rely on free agency next season.

Jeff Green is definitely a trade chip.  1 year, 9 mil.

Bass is also a decent asset.  Well-regarded, essentially an expiring.

JO's extra salary to make a deal work.  Ditto Dooling.

Clip's pick a good value.  Our 2012 pick an ok value.

Bradley & JJ total unknown quantities, but I'm optimistic about Bradley going into the year.  Doc's committed to using him at the 2 instead of the 1.  Much better chance to shine in that position.  A chance for him to show an offensive game in addition to his excellent defensive potential.

We'll be in the conversation if any David West level talent hits the market.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Coudn't agree more. It's gotten to the point where our only choice is to blow the team up and offer KG, Ray and Rondo in a trade.

For all this talk of cap flexibility, no one wants to come play here. At least if you trade any one or combination of Rondo, Ray and KG you could get a couple decent players in return who'll help you compete this year and next year.

I'm not so sure about that. If the celtics manage to stay healthy throughout the playoffs they still have a chance to win albeit a small one. The C's have Bradley, JJJ and Rondo as far as young talent with potential with Rondo of course being someone that is already there. Then at least 1 first round pick and possibly a lottery pick from the Clippers. That's 4 or 5 young guys to start rebuilding with right there, 6 if Green stays.

That gives you a chance to compete this year and starts you off with a decent rebuilding situation for the future. Not many teams start a rebuild with someone as talented as Rondo. Yes they will most likely be bad for a while but imo that's inevitable. You can try to blow it up all you want but the only guy with significant trade value is Rondo and he's young enough to rebuild with as it is. What are you going to do trade expiring contracts for significant value? Not without taking a
Bad contract back.

"Blow it up" because we didn't get West?? Weren't we really happy up till 9pm Friday night with what we had for a team? Dame team, just didn't get that piece that "may" have put them over the top.

I like the thinking that its not all bad for next year. I don't think Danny puts the C's threw an other 20 year slump, maybe one or two, but not 20.

Isn't the Clips pick protected? So might not get it if they are in the Lottery. But I could be wrong.

Might beable to add Austin Rivers next year. That be fun.

And who knows, maybe Lebron trips over his ego and breaks his leg...Could happen.

I'm not basing it solely on the loss of West. That hurt us, but if we can't get big free agents, or mid-level free agents, then how else do we get people here? I understand that it was JO being a dingus that lost us West, but seriously? Almost all of the big free agents are getting offers by more attractive teams. Alternative Solutions?
