can we make a play for carl landry?

if we dont get david west, landry is probably a 2nd best choice. he played very good with West out last year for New Orleans

I'd be all for it! Landry is almost just as good as West and younger. Wasn't there a story about him last summer where the Celtics were one of the teams he was interested in playing for?

We can either try to offer him the 3 million MLE OR maybe do a sign and trade involving Troy Murphy, Pavlovic and Avery Bradley.

I appreciate the positive attitude, but I [personally] really have no desire to get a player like Landry or Dalembert, or any other pretty good, but not all-star level player. They will all require multiple year contracts and at the very least, we are back to where we started from - having a lot of cap space next year. Not that it means a whole lot, but I would rather have the flexibility.

But...David West also plays the same position as Landry. And West would've also required a multi-year contract. So I guess my question would be what's the difference between West and Landry? Both guys are comparable in my eyes.

I see a nice potential in Landry, but I think David West is considerably better than Landry. If we could somehow get him on a one year contract, that could only be considered a net gain, but I just don't think he offers what West (an all-star level player) does.
