The Pacers have been rumored to have some interest in Rondo and I thought maybe the Celtics could somehow pry away Granger from the Pacers. I'm looking at a three team trade between New Orleans, Indiana and Boston. The Pacers would get Rondo and maybe one or two other players, The Hornets would get a good combination of younger players from the Celtics and Pacers and the Celtics could get Paul and Granger. I would have to think if the Celtics got an established younger star like Granger in the deal as well that Paul would be tempted to sign an extension in Boston. It may be a little too far fetched of a trade idea but with DA you can't rule anything out.

Paul said he doesn't want to go to the Celtics because it won't help jump-start his career and the Celtics are old and rebuilding soon.

Yet some of the fans here seem to think he will.

that's why if they get a younger star like Granger he would be tempted to Re-Sign with the Celtics. Tink about it what are Chris Paul's best options. If the Lakers get Howard they're not going to have the cap space to sign Paul too and the Clippers are still a long ways away from being a legitimate contender. Danny Ainge will always surround a star player with great talent so if I'm Chris Paul I look at the Celtics as the best fit.

Some fans think everyone wants to sign here.  I do not concur with that assessment.   I think we have a great city, best heritage and tradition in the game and the best fans.   The cold weather and lack of media is a turnoff on some.  While it is true we are a large market the movies and music are not as active here as they once were.

Why would we want Danny Granger right after we sign Jeff Green?  And we would have to give up half our team to get Chris Paul and Danny Granger.  Keep dreaming.

The Knicks won't have the money to sign Paul, are you crazy?
They just had to clear a bunch of cap space to get Chandler. I think the Knicks go cheaper at point guard and sign Steve Nash.

Trade Amare for Paul in a sign and trade.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If there were a way to get Paul and Granger on this team, I will start the rebuilding process this year. Unfortunately, all we have to give up are Rondo, JJJ, and a bunch of aging veterans in the twighlights of their careers. If our offer wasn't enough to get Paul, I don't know what we possibly could offer to get both of them. I would be psyched, though.

The parts don't add up.  No combination of young players that the Celts could give add up to Paul.  And in addition, you are talking about us getting Granger?!?!?  All for basically Rondo and scraps?

Does not compute unless you are a Celtics homer.
