Everybody knows that Danny's moves the last couple of years have all been focused on Boston having maximum cap room for this coming off season. That's the main reason neither Perk nor Big Baby are Celtics anymore. But the signing of Jeff Green to a one year deal, thereby killing any potential Chris Paul deal by making it impossible to immediately include Green in such a package, and the effort to get West would seem to indicate that Danny has reconsidered Boston's attractiveness to free agents. I'm sure Danny will make a pitch to Paul, Dwight and whomever when the time comes, and landing West might be an overture to Paul, but I think Danny is hedging his bets against the whole "two max free agents or bust" thing.
