It's inevitable, why did he make all that cap space available for next year ?

I'm sure Ainge will do something, that's why he signed West (if it goes through)  I think this means either him or KG (most likely) will be offered to the Magic with Rondo,Johnson,Bradley and multiple picks.

But with KG it has to be done in a subtle way, you can't let KG hear about it because this will surely affect the whole team.
And notice the first trade the Magic made was with the Celtics this offseason, I'm sure Ainge did talk to Otis about Howard...He had to and wouldn't be surprised if Ainge proposed a trade to him..

I think ainge makes a run at everyone because danny is a good gm and always looking toward the future. But it doesnt sound like howard has interest in boston. I just saw that Orlando has allowed his agent to talk with NJ, Dallas and some 3rd team that wasnt the Celtics.

Not good for us

Howard's agent is derelict in his duty if he does not explore all options for his client.

I said it elsewhere as well.

Also, its been said elsewhere by Orlando that those three teams arent the only teams who will get a chance to talk to Dwight, but ahead of play those are the teams he would likely extend with.

What will Danny offer ?

KG
Jeff Green
any and all picks
cash
my granny

Whats the rationale ?

Orlando already have Big baby. They get a core that know each other, get one last season from KG and cap space, and get a chance to rebuild big time.

Danny will probably pull in a third team with some sweetener.

But things look too wierd.

Jeff Green on a one year contract ?
D West to play off the bench ?

Nah....

PS: I think Rondo will go as well in that trade but I dont think Jameer Nelson will come back to us.

I can't see Rondo in the mix for Howard, some one needs to get him the ball, and who better than Rondo. Look how good he made Shaq look last year...

There has to be a reason why Ainge went after Bass, then after West when he could have done the same trade idea with Dalembert or some one else, concidering they really need a center at this point.

Green could be part of it, but Im hoping not. There aren't really any good 3/4's left in the market that are young. And its sounding like they want bodies over in Orlando. I think we have some youngs and picks to toss there way.

I also think its funny how people were ready to trade Rondo for CP3 with out the extention thinking Dany could get him to stay, or just be fine with a one year rental. But not okay with doing the same with Howard, for a guy that hasn't even walked into the room yet.

I think the Bass trade is reason to believe it won't happen. I'm sure DA talked to Otis about D12, but obviously nothing was made of it.

Still, Rondo is better than anything we've heard Orlando receiving for Howard. If we could give up enough additional assets and salary to take on Hedo's contract, I think it's something DA and Otis should both seriously consider .

as a rebuilding piece, both Bynum and Lopez are more valuable from a GM's perspective than Rondo.

We can't take on Hedo in a potential trade,we have to have a 3rd team take him.
I'm hoping West's first year is at least 12 million like Collison took in OKC the first year, then a player option in the 2nd at around 7 million then more in the 3rd with a team option. Also Bass has a player option next year.

So if Howard came here we could offer him the Max and Deron too. It's a long shot I know but Ainge will definitely try.

I disagree. Lopez and Bynum are not great players. If Bynum wasn't playing in LA (with Gasol, Kobe, and Phil), he wouldn't be nearly as overrated as he is. They both have size, but Rondo is a proven superstar.

We would then have an issue at PG.  And no one behind Pierce.

I see you working here and as a fan I could be ok with that deal, but it sounds a lot like robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I'd go for this.  We would have a starting lineup of

Billups
Allen
Pierce
West
Howard

WOW!  I think that team would average about 125 points a night!  Lots of age there, but if those 5 could stay healthy, we could fill in the rest of the roster with CB'ers and still win the title...
