Nah, I think A.Bradley is the fifth guard in the depth chart right now.

I expect his opportunities to be fairly limited unless he has improved hugely from last year.

Yeah.  If Green stays, then Dooling is the backup 1, Marquis the backup 2, and Green the backup 3.  And with Rondo, Allen, and PP in front of them, there doesn't look to be minutes for Bradley.

hes a scoring PG, hes not a distributer. I think the celtics wanted him to be more of a PG last year but he doesnt really have it in him.

Id like to see the celtics use him at the 2 spot. he could provide a spark off the bench...plus the kid can drive to the hoop

Yes, exactly.  I don't understand why everyone (including the C's) tried to make him a PG.  With no training camp, as a teenager, and without the basic requisite skills, last year.  No wonder he was overwhelmed.  He can defend the 2 just fine, and IMO he'll probably have the jump shot and scoring for it, once he's comfortable, as well.

Marquis isn't an 82 or 66 game player.  There'd be minutes for Bradley if he performed, but I expect this roster is still a work in progress for Danny.

Perhaps.  But the point is that he's not likely to be part of the opening day rotation.  It's going to take injuries for him to get any meaningful PT.

And even then, Doc will probably give the backup 2 minutes to Dooling or Green (with PP swinging down to the 2 when Ray is out).

I like Bradley and still think he can be good.  But this team is shaping up to have decent depth.  So he might have to wait another year.

unless bradley has come a long way this summer, i just don't see him playing much barring major injuries to guys ahead of him (though it's entirely possible keyon and marquis could miss significant time).

Doc Rivers: Avery Bradley will play almost exclusively shooting guard for Celtics this year. Addition of Keyon Dooling allows that.

if (when) marquis goes down, avery would be in line for minutes unless the celtics use their mini-mle on another SG (j-rich?).

I've said forever that Bradley is in no way a PG, so this pleases me to read.  I think he has some potential as an undersized 2.

This is excellent news for the kid. I hope he does something with the opportunity. He has a lot of potential but hes gotta use it.

And he has to remember that as long as he plays good tough defense he will stay on the floor. But hes always gotta give full effort on that end especially.

Best thing that could happen to Bradley is if we had the depth to let him play a full season in Maine.

The long term solution in my opinion would be to get someone who can create and play off the ball at the 2 spot. Bradley has talent on par with the likes of John Wall and actually likes playing defense. Why trade him now when his stock is low?
