  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Dooling is kind of like West- a PG who can run the 2 spot and shoot okay.
I'm thinking they are promoting Avery to the 'Carlos Arroyo' of this squad.
He could get some decent minutes particularly if they're trying to rest our starters.
That's if he isn't traded.

Does this roster give him more minutes or push him further into the D league?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think AB might still be with us.

Heard on the radio this a.m. that sasha Pavlovic was the other player to make the numbers work.

Nah, I think A.Bradley is the fifth guard in the depth chart right now.

I expect his opportunities to be fairly limited unless he has improved hugely from last year.

I think that AB will definitely get more minutes.Yesterday when Doc was discussing Bradley, my impression was that this was a sink or swim year for Bradley. He also praised AB's D as being NBA caliber now.

Even though Bradley is a tweener in that he has 2 guard skills in a 1 guard body, whom he is paired with could make him very valuable.

As the OP said, Dooling (like Delonte would have been) is a good pairing for him. I also think that E'tuan Moore is a good pairing with him. Both Dooling and Moore have a good handle and can bring the ball up and facilitate, so in the offense, they can play the 1 and AB the 2.

On defense, AB can really pressure the opponents 1 when they are trying to bring the ball up. Dooling and Moore, both a little slower and Moore with more size can defend the 2.

Marquis could also be paired with him in a similar scenario.

I think that both Moore and JJJ gt far more burn than normal rookies under Doc because of their age, maturity and 4 years of college experience.

It would have to been with Pavlovic S&T'd. Will try to find a link.

Here's the Pavlovic link.

I thought we would have to give up more to get D. West than just J.O. and Pavlovic. That would mean one of the PF would have to play center or we sign a center with the MMLE and have three good PF.

No, Doc said just the opposite yesterday.  He said he wasn't sure that Avery was a PG, therefore he liked the idea of pairing him with Dooling so that Dooling could have the responsibilities of handling the ball and Bradley could just concentrate on playing his game.  Said he was certain he was already an NBA caliber defensive player and that he didn't know yet if he was an NBA caliber offensive player, but that they would see.  It's in a clip with Greg D and Tommy interviewing Doc, somewhere over at the Herald's web site.

DIdn't he get cut in Israel or something? I'd say he gets minutes carrying people's bags and whatnot. I'm not even sure they let him play in practice much.  D League all the way.

He signed his rookie deal the same day he had ankle surgery and missed the summer league

This guy couldn't possibly be less prepared for the pros.

I really like this guy, but no i dont really think that he will get playing time unless its a big blowout..
However the two Preseason games may be a GREAT opportunity for Abery to show his skills.
He will have a hard time cracking the rotation if he fails to perform.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

hes a scoring PG, hes not a distributer. I think the celtics wanted him to be more of a PG last year but he doesnt really have it in him.

Id like to see the celtics use him at the 2 spot. he could provide a spark off the bench...plus the kid can drive to the hoop

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
The answer to the question posed in the thread is yes. With the condensed schedule I expect there to be games where vets dunt even suit up, this well mean more time for bradley
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
