Wilcox is taller and bulkier than Wesy so I'd play him against Howard and Boozer.

Wilcox is an awful defender isnt he?
He is (awful defender) at the center position which at the moment he'll be forced to play as a backup.

As a four, Wilcox is poor but not awful. A guy with his physical tools should be capable of a lot more. I'd like to see what Doc and Co. can do with him. Hopefully, they'll be able to get a lot more out him defensively than we've seen in the past.

Defense: Possesses the tools to be a terrific defender, but doesn’t always play with great focus. Has the athleticism to defend the low and high post with some effectiveness. Will struggle with stronger players. Has been very foul prone throughout his career. Displays quick hands and a quick second jump. Won’t block many shots, but will challenge some at the rim. Solid rebounder. Has great potential on this part of the floor, but is still developing consistency and gaining the experience to use his tremendous natural tools.

That what his draft report.

Supposedly he has been working on his D.

He has size and he has athletic ability.  Everything I've read has said that his weakness if any on D is his intensity.  KG is going to get in his ear and fix that.   Doc won't give his minutes if he doesn't play D.   That is the reality of it.

I think at this point in KGs career and the way the league is shaping up, this is a smart evolution.  Age and injuries may have slowed KG a bit (understandably), but he has Center size and like others have pointed out, the league is no longer stocked with monsters at the Center position.  Teams are getting faster with more finesse.  I say we use the MLE on a big body for depth and insurance, but I'm very happy with a 4-5 rotation of DWest, KG, Bass, Wilcox, JaJaun Johnson and MLE( possibly Gray).  I'm very pleased with the moves we've been making (very happy to keep Rondo around).  Speaking of Rondo, he has the potential to elevate all these athletic bigs games.
Mock Deadline Denver Nuggets

Patterson/Bennett/Arthur
Ross/Budinger
Miller/Hunter/Foye
