The man made of paper is back...he ran into a guys stomach...then was out..he was always hurt...just as he almost started to be a player...every time he started to play good, he had a reason to quit..I think he is always going to be the same...I would dump him, he already took too much $$$ and a roster spot. We could get someone for that $$$.

He's on a minimum contract, so there shouldn't be any money issue.  I tend to agree that he's too injury prone to rely on; I hope we sign a legit small forward, especially if Jeff Green is getting traded.

Doc said on the Training Camp Live Comcast telecast earlier that Marquis is stronger now and in better shape than before the injury and that the results of the surgery "were a miracle".

That's probably coach-speak, but I can't help but thinking back to when he always torched us slashing and making those short jumpers in the paint when he was with the Pacers. Let's hope we see more of those images again in 2012.

MD instead of D West..I know not a forward..but md isn't really a forward either....why should we lose green..? I like his game.....now that old baby is out of the way..we need green as a runner with Rondo..Wafer also, He showed some great moments in his limited playing time last year, good or getting better shooting, layups, slashing....With all the guys there, I don't see it worth playing MD..doc seems to like him..it sounds like more Celtics $$$ welfare.minimum..but what is that...1.5 million..ha..wayyyy too much for this guy..and if he knew ALL ALONG that he had this condition, why didn't he fix it in his off season summer 2009, or when his thumb was down.....I have a hard time believing in this guy.

Yes. Never had a problem with him as a player but I was more then a little surprised to see this addition. If he stays relatively healthy, id say its a win. IF
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I don't get what people don't understand: we have one 3 million MMLE and a bunch of minimum deals. What exactly would you like Danny to do, convince 40 million dollar players to come to an aging Celtic team for the minimum?

Is Marquis an injury risk? Absolutely. But if he is healthy for the playoffs he is a steal at the minimum. And with our resources that is all we can hope for at this point.

Well, as usual, we'll see..! Tomorrows stars are out there, but, you need to find them and sign them, then PLAY them. I don't like the Celtics style of...lets just find the next hottest thing....that we know will last 1 year. Like trading Rondo..If MD has proven anything over his tenure here..it is that he is ALWAYS a letdown...no one here is disapointed in the battier missed opportunity..?  Well, there was bbd and MD.s money..!  But I have seen that doc doesn't value a rebounder...you rebound for doc, you don't play...in an odd reference to that RONDO was the best rebounder on the team..and they wanted to trade HIM also..hahahah, I know not the idea really...or was it...hmmmmm..! Want me to stir the pot..okay..if only we kept Tony Allen..! ;-)

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'm happy to have a smart, heads-up, even-keeled player like Marquis. He can step in and start if need be or he can sit at the end of the bench and rest/heal. He is a question mark with his health, but not his game. He does everything well without the flash. Honestly, what else can you ask for from a vet. minimum guy? I think this was a no-brainer.

as much as I'm not in love with Quise he's good enough that if the Heat or Lakers signed him it would sorta tick me off

Meadowlark - to clarify, I meant this offseason.

dont want to be accused of supporting the 5 yr $15 DIckau deal or the Bruno Sundov era
