Let Chicago take RIP if we get Richardson.

Ditto, my thoughts exactly.

Hamilton was reportedly bought out for $8 million, resulting in a savings of $11 million.

Wow, that is a lot of money left on the table. Especially for a guy who was so reluctant to leave any behind last year and squashed his buyout because of it.

Rip must have a deal already lined up for the full MLE (or more) somewhere. I don't think he accepts this buyout otherwise. Guessing it's Chicago given how strongly he has been linked to them.

I heard some reports saying that a buyout allows Rip to choose his next destination, whereas if he were amnestied, anyone could have put a claim in. So, controlling his own fate must have been worth the money lost.

And Chicago appears to be a fait accompli.

you're probably right.  but he'd be a great 20 minutes a night guy here.

Bulls officially announce the signing of Rip Hamilton. It's a three-year deal with two fully guaranteed.

on paper this looks like a good signing, but im just not sold right yet on it IMO...I feel hamilton may go the way of Boozer on the bulls.

hamilton isnt really someone who can create his own shot, and Rose while a great scorer isnt the greatest playmaker. he should provide a better 3point/scoring threat though
