It's funny that Rockets are actually trying harder and willing to give whatever it takes to make this deal happen, when in fact, Lakers are getting the big prize.

Their "master plan" of pairing Pau with Nene has 0% chance of happening. If Paul goes to LA (without Bynum going to NO) Howard goes to LA ---> Nene goes to Nets.

In reality, LA don't have enough assets to get CP and DH but it looks like they will.

Odom+Gasol+Bynum = Howard+Paul

I could see the opposite happening too Stern saving face from the media his image etc and doing it just for that added excitement/drama/storylines across the basketball world following this dark lockout.

I hope I'm wrong.

if lakers make out in this deal even better than before and then send bynum to orlando for dwight, it will certainly seem as they run the league, not stern.

I can see this happening too and I too hope it's wrong. It better get vetoed. Not just because it's LA, cause even in the first deal Houston takes the bigger hit players wise and LA is the one getting CP3, they were just going to get an aging and skills on the decline Pau Gasol. So, the deal didn't change... still vetoed.
