None of us can say that we knew we what we would be getting when we traded for Ray Allen and got the chubby kid from LSU as filler. He came onto the team, and in his first season, showed flashes of being a contributor to the team that would eventually win a championship, although overshadowed by Garnett, Powe, and eventually P.J. Brown. His second season, he began to breakout, and with an extended injury to the two PFs who played ahead of him, Davis stepped in to the lineup. He had his ups and downs, with flashes of brilliance when he played memorable defense on Tim Duncan in a regular season game. In the playoffs, he helped The Green to play through and win one of the most memorable first round series ever, and gave us a game-winning shot that is still replayed against the Magic. Following that year, he found a friend after the trade deadline in Nate Robinson, and did his best to step up, despite his emotions sometimes getting the best of him. This past season, despite some disagreement, he always gave it his all, and even led the league in a defensive statistical category. Like it or not, I, along with many of you, lived and died with Glen Davis, loving him at times and hating him at others. He gave us an unexpected run, and I wish him much success in his NBA career.
