It looks like we're not going to make any big splashes at this point and our big three is now older than some other trios. But I still think we can compete with and possibly beat these teams with a team game and depending on what we can put on our bench.

Jermaine O'Neal / Big Baby / Another Vet Min signing
KG / Reggie Evans / J. Johnson
Pierce / Jeff Green / Gilbert Brown
Ray / Marquis / E'Tuan Moore
Rondo / Dooling / Bradley

That to me, is a possible example of our team this year. It has holes, but if they play very well as a team, we have decent luck with health and guys like Green, Baby and Evans really step up, we could be a very, very tough out.

Only if we make a move to improve the front court.  JO will be injured and there goes everything

Yes, this is true.

But 1-4, if we can add a guy like Evans at PF, I like our mix. We need one nice addition at the 5. What I'd really like, 1-4, is

KG / Evans / JJJ
Pierce / Green / Gilbert Brown
Ray / Delonte / Marquis
Rondo / Dooling / Bradley

I'm comfortable going up against any team in the league, 1-4, with that lineup.

If we could add even an Aaron Gray level guy at center to go with Jeramine and Baby even. I'd be happy and I also think that would be enough for to compete for a title if healthy.

i suppose they have a chance to win (however slim that might be). but they need a lot of to go their way (i.e. injuries etc). but they need some more offensive punch off the bench. they need to limit the minutes of the big 3. unless green becomes the player that we want him to be, that bench needs some more firepower/shooting. also, they need BIGS.

I'm not confident in our supporting cast.

I am very confident in Rondo and the Big Three though. I'd just like to see them get a little more help from the role players.

Let's see here:

Rondo/Dooling/Bradley
Ray/?/maybe Moore
Pierce/?/Daniels
KG/Bass/JJ
JO/?/?

West, Green on his QO and Przybilla and I'd like our chances

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Doc's gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

True KP 43...

In my lineup 1-4, I slid Baby to center, which I actually think he can play in spurts and against the right combinations, so that we could insert a tougher, better rebounding PF behind KG, let J. Johnson develop in the wings.

But I agree with you, Evans or Bass, both fit the basic mold of what I was looking for.

So if we could re-sign Jeff Green, who I think will have a good year for us, and possibly re-sign Delonte...

add a Pryzbilla / Wilcox combo?

Jermaine / Pryzbilla? / Wilcox?
KG / Bass / J. Johnson
Pierce / Jeff Green / Gilbert Brown
Ray / Marquis / Delonte
Rondo / Dooling / Bradley

I like the toughness we would have added with Pryzbilla, Bass and Dolling, all hard nosed guys.

get marc gasol to sign here for the mini-MLE and we can talk about the celtics winning a title this year.

slightly off topic but I'm just curious what other people's thoughts are.  just now on NBA tv they talked with Sean Grande about maybe KG calling Billups when he's amnestied.  Obviously this doesn't make much sense as things are now and then it got me thinking....

Provided the right player involved would you trade Rondo for a very good big man and then r[un it with Billups at the point for a vet min one year deal?  I know that's assuming a lot of things fall into place but it is a creative way to get a very good big man....I love rondo don't get me wrong but this was just intriguing to me.

i doubt the celtics would be able to trade rondo for a big man good enough to make up for the difference between him and billups.  it would have to be for a c/pf who is top 10 at this position.  i just don't see that happening.

Absolutely it has to be a top tier guy and at the moment I don't a name at the moment.  I think you're right it might be too hard to get it.
