To be honest, while I would have been "Ok" with a trade for Chris Paul, I really have a soft spot for Rondo, even with the glaring shortcomings of his shooting game. This being said, while he can shoot, he can certainly score...and there is something to be said for that fact.

It's just when I look at his overall game, I have a hard time feeling comfortable trading him for any other point guard. And I still believe that if you give him the right weapons on the floor as we rebuild and especially if it's a get up and down the floor team, he will be a sick assassin at the point for us.

All this being said, after Paul thought he was going to LA and got that taste in his mouth, and since he has said he would have no interest in re-signing in Boston, I would just stop all pursuit of him at this point if I were Danny.

#1, as others have mentioned, I think he probably controlled the trade by suggesting he would sign an extension in LA.

#2, he's probably now bitter the trade didn't go through, and if he now lands in Boston, in a place he doesn't want to be, I think he's for sure gone in the off season and most likely to the Knicks.

So I just wouldn't trade for him at this point.

No need to worry.  This is no longer an option anyway.  He either gets traded to the lakers now or not at all.  There are no other possibilities.

I would still have no problem if they traded for Paul.

He still improves the team.

And now as an added bonus, think how much it will pain the Lakers and their fans that he ended up in Boston.

The QQ will be constant and immense.

You made us carry Reggie Lewis on our cap for three years, so bite me. Will be my response.

I don't think its likely though, rather if he gets traded it will be through a reworked deal to get him to LA.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for you!) Papa Stern likely isnt letting Paul go anywhere unless he reverses his decision.

It has to be LA or CP3 goes to FA next summer....

TP Wdleehi! I forgot about that. I live in LA, and in typical fashion, all my buddies out here who are Laker fans were just blasting me last night. My phone was ringing off the hook, texts coming in every two seconds all night.

This morning, they are all crying and whining about how unfair the league is and it's all BS, they are getting screwed, etc...it's really beautiful actually.

Ok, so I changed my mind, we need to get Chris Paul asap!

That sorta depends on if Houston decides to wait around or go to plan B right away.

Yeah that's true.
