We clearly have so shot at contending for a title this year. Ray and KG are both in the last year of their deals and they could definitely help a team close to a championship. the best you will likely get back is expiring deals and maybe a young player or draft pick, but it is better than nothing.

I think they are as good as gone by the all-star break now...

thoughts?

Their contracts are expiring anyway - no real reason to trade them.

Ray could still be an asset to us beyond this year if he'll take around the veteran minimum or half the mle

I think they will return for a drastic paycut if Boston can get Howard....which isn't looking likely now. I still see them coming back though.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Don't give up complete hope.
The Lakers are now relying on Bynum to stay healthy or that Orlando will take Bynum for Howard.

Their starting five:
CP3
Kobe
Artest
Bynum
?

A lot of injury worries there and Artest is pure garbage.
Team isn't gonna be a tough as everyone thinks.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No.

The biggest value in KG and Ray is still likely their expiring deals.

No one is going to trade us a future superstar for them, so we might as well try to hold onto them and make a run on the FA market.

This. If he's offered the right deal he'll trade them though. It really depends on how the Celtics are performing.
