Puke

He must have evidence that Paul Allen was involved with the Ndamaka Suh car crash

It was his qualifying offer, which the Trail Blazers tendered to him in order to make him restricted. What's the problem?

I don't think there's any problem if you like flushing about 9 mill down the drain.

I suppose overpaying by about 5 or 6 mill might be worth it to see if a young guy with multiple major injuries will become the next Big Z but better.

Although it looks like Pervis Ellison to me

I am surprised. I thought someone would take a chance on Oden on a multi-year deal.

Maybe Oden should have waited a bit longer to see what happens with those teams with all that cap space. Maybe he, or his agent, could have leveraged that into a bigger contract.

Excellent deal for Portland. Take a one year punt on a guy who was a terrific talent before his latest batch of injuries. If it works, great. If it doesn't, not too much lost.

One last chance kinda thing. Paul Allen can afford it.

Does that make him unrestricted next summer?

If so, and he has a healthy year, and you can't sign Dwight Howard, do you think about signing him next year?

Yes, and maybe.

I think it will take a lot to erase his injury history, but I think you have to at least consider it.

Yeah, I think so. Cautiously.

Yeah, I think so. Cautiously.
Even if he has a monstrous year, how much faith (and cap space) are you willing to put into 2 surgically repaired knees in the long run?

I don't know .. but I'd be more concerned about the length of the deal than the per annum cost.

I'd rather overpay to get a shorter deal than take a longer cheaper (per year) deal.

Cris Paul hasn't had 2 microfracture surgeries over the last 2 years, and doesn't weight 300 lbs. Just saying.

Yes. But he has to be healthy this whole year but only put up numbers good enough to warrant a team friendly deal...then he can turn into a monster for the Celtics...
