These shorter contracts sure do look like they're giving teams license to pay even greater sums per annum than before.

That the long term risk has been lowered enough to make it worthwhile for teams to overpay on these shorter contracts.

You have to wonder if it's a CP3 enticement.

That's a lot of combined money in Ellis, Lee, Biedrins and Chandler, if it goes through.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger
PF: Pau Gasol/Al Horford
C: Yao Ming/Tyson Chandler

It definitely is, and the Warriors want to then trade Ellis for CP3 (yea right) to have CP3, Curry, Wright, Lee, Chandler

Now the Knicks are supposedly in the lead for him. Trying to move Turiaf and then Amnesty Billups. That would free up 14 mill in cap room this year to offer to Chandler.

With NY out of the running to get CP3 at all it could seriously hurt our chances of trading for him. He might want to sign an extension with the Clippers or Lakers now.
