He plays the point guard position the way I like to see it played.  I don't think there's a better passer of the basketball anywhere in the world right now than Rajon Rondo.  When healthy, he's also the most tenacious and disruptive defensive and loose ball, 50/50 playmaking guard in the league.

I like having a guy running the show who prefers to set up his teammates for easy shots than to look for his own shot.  I think if he manages to make it through this current mess, he'll be a guy who will truly have the ability to make those around him better.  I actually believe he's already shown that, but of course that's difficult to substantiate because the three guys he's been throwing the ball to were pretty darned good to begin with.

I want to see the next phase of the Boston Celtics with Rajon as our point guard.

Clearly there are many who disagree, but I just thought we needed a little Rajon Rondo love thread right about now.

Fine, then, I'm Huey Lewis and that girl in the video is Rondo:

I'd love that too.

Rajon Rondo is one the most unorthodox and exciting players in the league today. I'd greatly miss him if he left.

I'm obviously a Lakers fan, but have huge respect for Rondo. One of my favorite players to watch. I think he's even being underrated by a lot of people on here. You have him signed to a very reasonable contract, as well.

Would never forget how he, easily the smallest person on the court, just completely dominated the Cavaliers a few years ago.

i will never forget how rondo played in games 3, 4, and 5 particularly.  truly spectacular.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Man, remember when some Boston fans saw some Jason Kidd in him.  That seems like a long time ago now.

Personally, I would've liked to see him and Kevin Durant as a tandem.  Now, I've shifted my interest in wanting to see him and Blake Griffin...  Lastly, it would be intriguing to see what it would be like to see him and Josh Smith together since they're good friends.  But then, I'd a similar thinking about Paul Pierce and Baron Davis.

Actually, I wonder if Rondo needs a friend like Smith at a time like this since Kendrick Perkins is gone.  It's very unlikely to happen...  But, I thought about it: Do I want to see it happen? Is Smith a leader? Is he the type of personality that gets a team's head coach fired? Sometimes, what sounds like a good idea on paper, isn't a good idea in reality.  Still, Rondo needs a teammate he trust that will be a Celtic for the long term.  Again, Perkins is gone and I wonder what Rondo's state of mind is right now.  Does he want to be traded out of Boston now due to any distrust toward Ainge or the trade rumors.

If this all ends badly for Rondo and the Boston fans for this upcoming season.  Ainge would be wise to hold onto that future Clippers first round pick.  It might be all we've to look forward to post Garnett and Allen.

Its kind of sad because Rondo breaks an arm for the team and gets shopped while Chris Paul is being courted by Ainge when he says he has no plans on staying in Boston. Its all part of the job description though.

It shouldn't affect Rondo much since Ainge, not Doc, will be the 'enemy'.

You also can't play 30+ minutes in a playoff game 2 days after an injury like that, and you *definitely* can't come back into the same game 5-6 minutes later.

I'm strongly in the 'Keep Rondo' camp as well.

The sooner this Chris Paul distraction is behind us the better.
