seems like one minute talks with Gs are off and boston is leading...next minute boston is at the end of the pack....who knows really though??

I just dont understand why someone would rather play for a loser franchise like the Golden state warriors than the most storried franchise in basketball?

Because California has beautiful weather, and Boston has a ton of snow.  Because in california he'd be able to go out to clubs and mingle with other celebrities and entertainers every night.  Plus, our team could end up sucking just as bad as the warriors if the players we add with our cap space dont pan out.

And CP3 is only like 25.  Celtic history in his mind is probably very different from what it is in many people on this forum.  Only Celtic teams Paul has likely ever watched are the ones that sucked every year with Paul Pierce...who would likely be the only other player he'd be guaranteed to be playing with in the future if he signed.

Only teams with good "history" to a 25 year old are #1-Kobe/Shaqs Lakers, and #2-MJs Bulls.  Every team beyond that is just a team.

Pretty sad when someone chooses a losing franchise with good weather over a winning one with bad weather.   I'd expect that in beach volleyball not basketball.

Do the forums really need a dozen different threads with everyone saying the same thing? Everything we have heard are rumors and "leaked" information by agents, GMs, or from sports reporters who have no credence whatsoever. Stop treating it all as if it were right out of Chris Paul's mouth. Every single discussion of this is people complaining that Paul won't come here, then people arguing Paul vs. Rondo, etc etc. Same stuff. Seriously, not to be a jerk or anything, but until there is actually some new information and not more third person unsubstantiated hearsay can we stop creating new threads and confine it all to one of the dozen existing CP3 trade talk discussions?

Ahhh, it's just his agent or the Hornets management leaking this crap to up the anty from the C's. Tell CP3 that the C's will give him the most money next year and he will walk to Boston.

Don't come on here until the season starts then. Welcome to free agency and the offseason.

LETS MAKE ONE THING VERY CLEAR.
Look who the author is, and look him up. He's a Cali beat writer. Notice how he's focusing all on the Clippers, Lakers, and Warriors. Cali bias right there. I'm taking this with a grain of salt.

Some sites are feeding us all kinds of different information. In some the Celtics are one of the main three teams in the running along with the Clippers and the Warriors. In some other sites the Warriors and Clippers are pretty much out of it due to refusal to include Stephen Curry and Eric Gordon into the deal. In other sites the Celtics are the ones looking in and are just like a guy who is a 5 trying to get a date with a girl who is 10, you can ask and ask and ask but in the end it's unlikely to happen. So who to believe?

I believe that Danny offered up Rondo, Green and two firsts. I don't think the Clippers pick will be one of them, I mean as it sits right now up on NBAdraft.net has the (extremely) early mock draft up and the Celtics are picking 8 and it's Terrence Jones. The Clippers will most likely suck, so not sure he'd give that pick up unless Paul committed. So yeah they get two picks but it's the Celtics picks not the Clipper one.

We'll find out what will happen but one thing that everyone must watch out for, the Orlando Magic coming out of left field. I mean it makes sense right? People are saying a team has a good chance to land Howard by getting Paul... so the Magic are trying to keep Howard, why wouldn't  they try to get Paul? Off-season in the NBA is a lot of fun this year.

Reasons why Boston should be attractive to CP3:

It's the most historic and successful franchise in the sport of basketball, who wouldn't want to add to that legacy?

The amount of cap space that Boston will have next season to add more top tier talent and start replacing the old Big 3.

The close proximity to his home state of North Carolina compared to all those west coast teams, he's very active in the communities of NC.

I don't buy any of the reports that say CP3 doesn't have any interest in the Celtics because I don't think he's dumb enough to let his opinion reach the media like that. There's a lot of speculation being done by members of the media right now so please take a lot of what you read and filter it profusely.

Ok, the weather sucks here in New England.. But is it better in New York? Not at all. And at least we're trying to get him to add pieces around him and win, instead of just trading for him to sell jerseys.

New Yorks weather doesnt matter much. He wants to go to NY to play with his friends.  Plus even if NY is similar in weather (it is actually noticeably warmer), the nightlife in NY is way beyond Boston.  You dont really go out in Boston and continually rub shoulders with movie stars and entertainers...you do in the city.

That's a very fair thing to consider. But as far as buying it solely on where he's from, it's not like Sherrod is saying the C's are a frontrunner, to my knowledge. All he's said is the C's are really trying with 3-team trades here and there for Chris Paul.

I never understood the "Weather" thing...

When the season is happening (normally, not necessarily a lockout season) the games are being played from October-June.
The games stop even earlier if you don't make it to the Finals.  I don't think Boston is an awful place to be in the April-October months.  In fact, I'd argue it's better than some places, as we get the nice Summer days, as well as the beautiful Foliage.

As far as when you're actually PLAYING basketball, half your time is spent traveling anyway, so who cares what the weather is at home?

Just thought I'd throw that out there, as the argument for "weather" has always seemed kind of idiotic to me, and I don't quite think people realize that when games are being played, the last thing on their minds is the weather.  Sure it's a great sales pitch by a GM or whatever, but when you're actually able to enjoy time off, and the weather, Boston isn't far off from nice weather in comparison to anywhere else in North America.
