Celtics are just straight up disrespecting Rondo right now, this is gonna be ugly for them if they don't get this trade done.

Two years ago they spent half the summer trying to trade Ray and Rondo, we went to the finals then based in no small part on Rondo's play.

Maybe that's what we need to do every offseason (try to trade Rondo) to motivate Rondo.

Hopefully, like a professional should.

It is a business. Sometimes you may be a part of trade rumors, pretty much everyone who has played in the NBA has been once in their career.

not well.

i get that he was dealing with plantar fasciitis last spring, but i can't help thinking that his horrific march and april this past season was due in large part to perk getting traded.

if rondo's mercurial nature can have that kind of effect on his play, i can only imagine that all of these very serious trade rumors flying around before the season has even begun will have an impact on his play.

Pretty much true.

Rondo will be fine.

Rondo will dominate this season coming up. especially if hes traded he hates when hes in the rear view mirror of cp3 this will fuel him to become a better player. Hornets are lucky if they end up with this guy should be a strait up trade.

this is true, but i don't remember the trade rumors being this serious or specific.

the fact that ainge is trying to trade rondo basically straight up for a different point guard, one rondo doesn't particularly like (if past matchups are any indication), and one who would likely be a one year rental for the celtics, has to needle Rondo a lot more than the "rondo for michael conley and rudy gay" rumors we heard about briefly and well after the talks had already died.

Probably pouting and behaving like a spoiled child. Like he always does when things don't go the way he wants them to go!

It's the first thing that got on my mind as well. The damage is done already.

Two things can happen now. One is Rondo being... Rondo. I mean this would affect anyone. For me, Rondo is as important as Pierce. I only found out we didn't draft Rondo a few months ago (but he was with the team minutes within the draft's end). It's shocking but also it's the American business.
Two, you got Garnett, Pierce and Allen on your side. A guy who defines mental toughness and a beast of a man that most mankind can look up to; You got Pierce (need say more than stabbing, league's MVP, franchise legend?) and Allen who has in my mind always been a teacher kind of guy. After all, we've all seen his motivational speech before the Warriors game.

Personally, I think that Doc, with the help of the 3 HoF-ers, won't let Rondo sink. Rajon's got a lot to prove now, and this should only help him become a lot better player.

P.S. How many of you can see in your heads an ESPN report in 2020 mentioning Rondo as a Boston Celtics legend who never developed a jump shot but makes this team championship caliber?

if rondo's traded, he won't be in a hornets jersey.

Yup was saying that awhile back the writings on the wall and there is probably bad blood now. We might have to get rid of rondo eventually due to this wether he is traded for cp3 or not.

i follow these trade rumors as ravenously as anyone, and i don't recall the ray and rondo for amare rumors having the kind of legs that these rumors do.

there can be no doubt at this point that danny ainge isn't just making some calls, exploring options, or gauging rondo's value (as it seems he was last summer prior to signing rondo to an extension).

he's pulling out all the stops to find any way possible to get chris paul in boston outside of trading one of the big 3.  this situation is pretty obviously different.
