Defense has never been the issue. It's scoring in the fourth quarter when the games are tight.

It's all moot if we don't have a center with some size to knock down the Lebron's and dwades of the world.  JO isn't intimidating anyone at this stage of his career.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I feel like building a defensive team would mean replacing the Big 3. They proved to be too old/slow to defend a strong athletic team like the Heat in a 7 game series. Signing defensive players is not going to do anything for our noticeable scoring deficiencies in the fourth quarter. In fact, trading for CP3 would help our offense a lot, but it's not going to make old tired legs young again on defense. Everything is up in the air until we see what our Big 3 has left in the tank. Sorry for the negativity...

that's why a strong defensive/offense bench can take over that load and lower the big 3 min to

I think every team is looking for a "strong defensive/offense bench". the problem is we can't afford a full compliment of players like that.

Whatever the Celtics do must be around a competent center. The Celtics one advantage over the Heat was size and Ainge traded that away for Jeff Green.

I'm hard pressed to see the current Celtics roster competing with the younger, more athletic teams in the league. Put some size inside and force teams to the perimeter to shoot.

  • Rondo = Good
yeah, our defense has been consistently very good throughout the big 3 era . . . but only in '08 was our offense and rebounding good enough to go all the way -- and it's not like our offense was explosive in '08, either.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Gorman said that he thought Rondo when he applied himself was way above Paul at the defensive end.

We have good "D" ..........we need a LEADER and PLAYMAKER and man who can MAKE A CLUTCH basket when the game is on the line or the game is slipping away.

PP and RAy are getting older and used to do this all the time ..we need an offensive "PUNCH" to get the team going when the chips are gown.  Rondo is not that type of clutch player.  We need YOUNGER offensive spark.

I suggest Mr Chris Paul
